摘要: An intraocular pressure measurement arrangement is disclosed for measuring pressure of an eye of a patient. The arrangement can detect at least one of acoustic reflectivity, optical reflectivity, optical path difference, positioning of intraocular pressure measurement arrangement with respect to the eye, orientation of intraocular pressure measurement arrangement with respect to the eye, shape of cornea and corneal thickness. At least one source can produce acoustic, nonlinear acoustic, mechanical or a nonlinear mechanical wave from a distance, coupling to the eye to generate at least one surface wave. Upon triggering data acquisition, at least one surface wave from a distance from the eye can be detected to extract surface wave information with pressure information of the eye being based on the surface wave information.

摘要: A system for detecting a wave occurring in/on a membrane includes a source for directing an excitation signal obliquely to the membrane and a receiver for measuring interference between a first part of the excitation signal reflected off a front surface of the membrane and a second part of the excitation signal reflected off a rear surface of the membrane. The system includes a processing device for detecting the wave based on a change in the measured interference. The detection of the wave is based on changes caused by the wave in the optical length of a V-shaped part of a propagation path of the second part of the excitation signal, where the V-shaped part of the propagation path is inside the membrane.

摘要: A method is disclosed for measuring pressure under a flexible cover by utilizing electromagnetic waves. Laser radiation is directed to the cover from a distance to generate vibration or a mechanical wave at the cover at at least one generation location of the cover on the basis of photoacoustic phenomena. Based on the electromagnetic waves, cover vibrations are detected due to the mechanical wave, and recorded to detect the mechanical wave at at least one recording location and to form mechanical wave information. Pressure information of pressure under the flexible cover is detected based on at least one recorded signal.

摘要: A device for detecting motion of a surface includes a light source for emitting light, a focusing lens configured to focus the light, and a detector configured to receive the focused light reflected off the surface and to detect motion of a distribution pattern of the reflected light. The motion of the distribution pattern of the reflected light is indicative of the motion of the surface. A conic constant of the focusing lens is in the range from □1.5 to □0.5, and a diameter of the focusing lens is at least 60% of the distance from the focusing lens to a beam waist of the focused light. When the conic constant and the diameter are within the above-mentioned ranges, the device is suitable for handheld apparatuses for free-hand measurements of small motions of surfaces. A handheld apparatus can be for example an apparatus for detecting eye pressure.

摘要: A system for measuring pressure of an eye includes an excitation source for producing a travelling air vortex ring and for directing the travelling air vortex ring to the eye, a detector for detecting an interaction between the travelling air vortex ring and a surface of the eye, and a processing device for determining an estimate of the pressure of the eye based on the detected interaction between the travelling air vortex ring and the surface of the eye. The travelling air vortex ring is produced by directing an air pressure pulse into a flow guide, and the air pressure pulse is generated with an electric spark or otherwise so that no swinging mass, such as a piston, is needed. This is advantageous especially in a case of a handheld device because a swinging mass would tend to adversely move the handheld device during a measurement.
