    Abstract: A handwriting system includes a first light source module, a second light source module, an image sensing device and a processing circuit. The first light source module is configured to provide a first light to illuminate an object on a plane. The second light source module is configured to provide a second light to illuminate the object on the plane, wherein the second light source module is disposed under the first light source module. The image sensing device is disposed above the plane and configured to capture an image of the object reflecting the first light only or an image of the object reflecting the first and the second lights both. The processing circuit is electrically connected to the image sensing device and configured to receive the image captured by the image sensing device and generate control information according to light-spot information in the captured image.

    Abstract: A positioning method and a handheld device for performing the method are disclosed. In the method, a handheld device captures images corresponding to positions of a reference when the handheld device points toward the reference. A first image position, a first tilt angle indicative of a rotation angle of the handheld device, and a first pointing coordinate of the reference can obtained. A second pointing coordinate according to the first image position and a second tilt angle are obtained. Therefore, a first displacement vector between the first pointing coordinate and the second pointing coordinate can be computed. A third pointing coordinate can also be obtained. When a substantial movement of the positions of the reference revealed in the images captured by the handheld device is found, an output pointing coordinate is obtained. The output can be outputting a cursor parameter for controlling a cursor controlled by the handheld device.

    Abstract: A pointer positioning method of a handheld pointer device, which includes capturing a first image frame containing a reference point to compute a first pointing coordinate according to the image position of the reference point in the first image frame; generating a cursor parameter of a cursor according to the first pointing coordinate; when the handheld pointer device enters a pointer-lock mode, records the first pointing coordinate and positions the cursor at the first pointing coordinate on a display apparatus; when the handheld pointer device exits the pointer-lock mode, captures a second image frame to compute a second pointing coordinate according to the image position of the reference point in the second image frame to obtain a displacement vector between the first and the second pointing coordinates; generating the cursor parameter and controlling the movement of the cursor according to the displacement vector and the first pointing coordinate.
