Abstract: The present disclosure relates to the prioritization of devices taking part in a multi-user random access wireless communication. Based on some known conditions, devices that comply with the conditions are given preferential treatment during the random access period. The preferential treatment may refer to the eligible devices being allowed to access more resource units during the random access, or it may also mean faster access to the medium during the random access. By taking advantage of the methods described in the present disclosure, it is possible to assign higher priority to selected frame types and/or device categories in a multi-user random access wireless communication system.

Abstract: An transmission apparatus of the present disclosure comprises a transmission signal generator which, in operation, generates a transmission signal that includes a legacy preamble, a non-legacy preamble and a data field, wherein the non-legacy preamble comprises a first signal field and a second signal field, the second signal field comprising a first channel field and a second channel field, each of the first channel field and the second channel field comprising a common field that carries resource unit (RU) allocation information and a user-specific field that carries per-user allocation information for one or more terminal stations, and wherein a part of the user-specific field of one of the first channel field and the second channel field whichever is longer than the other channel field in length before appending padding bits is relocated to the other channel field; and a transmitter which, in operation, transmits the generated transmission signal.

Abstract: A communication apparatus includes: MAC control circuitry, which, in operation, controls transmission and reception of a control frame and a data frame that are used for communication with another communication apparatus; and radio circuitry, which, in operation, performs radio communication of the control frame and the data frame using a transmission antenna and a reception antenna, wherein, when the radio circuitry receives, from the another communication apparatus, an SSW frame including an OCB response subfield among a plurality of the control frames, the MAC control circuitry determines whether to perform data communication between the communication apparatus and the another communication apparatus in accordance with the OCB response subfield.

Abstract: A communication apparatus includes: control circuitry that controls transmission/reception of a first control frame and a first data frame used for communication with another communication apparatus, and controls transmission/reception of a second control frame and a second data frame used for communication with the another communication apparatus; first radio circuitry that performs radio communication of the first control frame and the first data frame using a first omni-directional antenna; and second radio circuitry that performs radio communication of the second control frame and the second data frame using a second directional antenna. When the first radio circuitry receives, from the another communication apparatus, a WSA frame including information on the radio communication using the second radio circuitry among a plurality of the first control frames, the control circuitry determines not to perform an association procedure between the communication apparatus and the another communication apparatus based on the WSA frame.
