    Abstract: A modulation device includes: a modulation ID signal generator that generates a first ID signal including first identification information; a reception terminal capable of receiving a second ID signal including second identification information; a transmission terminal capable of transmitting the first ID signal and the second ID signal out of the modulation device; a detector that detects a received state in which the second ID signal is received by the reception terminal and an unreceived state in which the second ID signal is not received by the reception terminal; and a switch circuit that outputs the first ID signal to the transmission terminal when the detector detects the unreceived state and outputs the second ID signal to the transmission terminal when the detector detects the received state.

    Abstract: A charging system is configured to charge a charging target group including electronic devices which are stacked in a row and include their respective secondary batteries. A first receiver is configured to acquire, from the electronic devices, pieces of battery information representing remaining capacities of the secondary batteries, respectively. The second receiver is configured to obtain, from the electronic devices, pieces of position information representing positions of the electronic devices in the charging target group, respectively. The determining processor is configured to determine respective priorities of the electronic devices according to the pieces of battery information and the pieces of position information based on a judgment condition. The charge controller is configured to control charging of each of the electronic devices so that the electronic devices are charged according to the respective priorities.

    Abstract: An optical signal receiver receives an optical signal superimposed on illumination light from an illumination apparatus which repetitively transmits as the optical signal a frame including predetermined information and a preamble indicating the start of the frame. Further, the optical signal receiver includes a light receiving unit configured to receive the optical signal, and a controller configured to control the light receiving unit based on the optical signal received by the light receiving unit such that the optical signal receiver operates in either one of an intermittent reception mode of intermittently receiving the optical signal and a continuous reception mode of continuously receiving the optical signal.
