Abstract: A light-emitting device includes: a laser light source that radiates blue-based light as primary light; a wavelength converting member that emits secondary light, the secondary light including wavelength-converted light, the wavelength-converted light being the primary light converted into light having more long-wavelength components than the primary light; a first light-guiding member that transmits the secondary light emitted by the wavelength converting member; and a second light-guiding member which includes a resin material, and transmits the secondary light transmitted by the first light-guiding member, and the first light-guiding member and the second light-guiding member are connected by a connector, the connector including a numerical aperture (NA) converting member that optically connects a transmission path in the first light-guiding member and a transmission path in the second light-guiding member.

Abstract: A wavelength converting member includes a first wavelength converting material and a second wavelength converting material. The emission wavelength of the second wavelength converting material is longer than the emission wavelength of the first wavelength converting material, and in the second wavelength converting material, the time from when excitation light stops to when fluorescence stops is an afterglow time, and the afterglow time is longer than the emission time of the first wavelength converting material and is 1 s or less. A light source device includes the wavelength converting member and a light source unit. A lighting device includes the wavelength converting member, a light source device, and a light guide disposed between the light source unit and the wavelength converting member.

Abstract: A light source device, includes: a plurality of excitation light sources that emit primary light; an optical member that condenses the primary light; a fluorescent unit that emits secondary light including the primary light and wavelength converted light which is at least some of the primary light on which wavelength conversion is performed; and a sensor that detects an anomaly in the fluorescent unit. In addition, when seen along an optical axis of the primary light emitted by the plurality of excitation light sources, the sensor circumscribes, among the plurality of excitation light sources, a first excitation light source and a second excitation light source different from the first excitation light source, and is disposed inside an imaginary circle having, as a diameter, a line segment connecting the first excitation light source and the second excitation light source.
