Abstract: An electrolytic capacitor includes an anode body having a porous structure, an anode lead partially embedded in the anode body, a dielectric layer formed on a surface of the anode body, and a cathode part that covers at least part of the dielectric layer. The anode body has a first region in which first particles sintered together and a second region in which second particles sintered together. The average particle diameter D1 of the first particles is smaller than the average particle diameter D2 of the second particles. The volume-based pore diameter distribution of the anode body with the dielectric layer has a first peak in a range of less than or equal to 0.5 μm in pore diameter, and a second peak in a range of more than 0.5 μm in pore diameter.

Abstract: A method for producing an electrode foil includes: a first step of preparing a metal foil, the metal foil having a strip shape; a second step of disposing a masking member so as to cover part of a principal surface of the metal foil; and a third step of partially etching the principal surface of the metal foil by applying current between the metal foil and an electrode while the metal foil faces the electrode via the masking member in etching liquid after the second step. The masking member has a strip shape. In the second step, the masking member is disposed along a longitudinal direction of the metal foil so as to be separated from both side edges of the metal foil.

Abstract: A method for producing an electrode foil includes an electrolytic etching step of etching a metal foil containing first metal by applying current between the metal foil and an electrode in etching liquid while a principal surface of the metal foil faces the electrode. A masking member is disposed between the principal surface of the metal foil and the electrode so as to cover a partial region of the principal surface. The masking member is an electric conductor. The masking member is electrically connected with the metal foil.

Abstract: An electrolytic capacitor includes an anode body having a porous structure, an anode lead having a sheet shape, a cathode layer, an anode lead frame electrically connected to the anode lead, and a cathode lead frame electrically connected to the cathode layer. The anode lead includes an embedded portion embedded in the anode body and a protrusion portion protruding to an outside of the anode body. The anode lead has a first main surface facing the cathode lead frame and a second main surface opposite to the first main surface. The anode lead is located between a center of the anode body and an end face of the anode body in a first direction in which the first main surface faces the cathode lead frame. The end face of the anode body is positioned at a side close to the cathode lead frame.

Abstract: An electrolytic capacitor including a capacitor element that includes an anode body being porous, a dielectric layer formed on the surface of the anode body, and a solid electrolyte layer covering at least part of the dielectric layer. The anode body has a plurality of principal surfaces and a corner portion. The corner portion includes a plurality of side portions connecting between the principal surfaces, and one or more vertex portions connecting between the principal surfaces. A surface layer X of at least part of the corner portion is more compact in texture than a surface layer Y of the principal surface adjacent to the surface layer X.
