    Abstract: A phosphor wheel according to the present disclosure includes: a first substrate having a first main surface and a second main surface opposite to the first main surface, the first substrate including a metal material; a phosphor ring provided on the first main surface of the first substrate; a second substrate having a third main surface and a fourth main surface being opposite to the third main surface, the second substrate including a metal material; a plurality of heat dissipation fins disposed on the fourth main surface of the second substrate; and a motor mounted on the first substrate. The second main surface of the first substrate and the third main surface of the second substrate are joined by brazing. The motor is mounted on the first substrate with a gap interposed between the motor and the second substrate.

    Abstract: A lighting device of the present disclosure includes an excitation light source, a phosphor, a spreader, a reflective layer, and a reflective region. The excitation light source emits a polarized light. The phosphor receives the light as an excitation light from the excitation light source, and emits a fluorescent light, the phosphor including a plurality of phosphor pieces adjacently disposed on the reflective layer, the plurality of phosphor pieces having a same characteristic. The spreader supports the phosphor. The reflective layer is disposed between the phosphor and the spreader, and reflects the fluorescent light. The reflective region is disposed between the plurality of phosphor pieces, the reflective region reflecting the received excitation light while keeping a polarization characteristic of the received excitation light.

    Abstract: A light source device includes: a light source element emitting first light; a first selective reflection element disposed at a position where the first light is incident, the first selective reflection element transmitting a component of first linear polarized light and reflecting a component of second linear polarized light; a second selective reflection element disposed at a position for receiving incident light that has passed through or been reflected by the first selective reflection element, the second selective reflection element transmitting or reflecting the incident light in accordance with a wavelength region; and a first polarization direction conversion element disposed between the first and second selective reflection element, the first polarization direction conversion element converting the first linear polarized light into elliptical polarized light. The first polarization direction conversion element converts the elliptical polarized light reflected by the second selective reflection element into the second linear polarized light.

    Abstract: The first dichroic filter is in a region including a circumference having a first radius, transmits source light and reflects fluorescence. The phosphor is in a region having a predetermined angular width of a region including a circumference having the first radius, and excited by source light to generate fluorescence. The first transmission window is in a region different from the region of the phosphor and transmits incident light. The second dichroic filter is in a region having a predetermined angular width of a region including a circumference having a second radius, and transmits source light and reflects incident light. The second transmission window is in a region different from the second dichroic filter and transmits source light. The diffusion film is on one of the first and second transmission windows, and diffuses incident light.
