摘要: A light projection system for generating an image with three primary colors, each primary color being respectively defined by a first, second and third wavebands. The system includes a first blue laser source emitting a first beam in a fourth waveband, the first blue laser source having a first laser driver, a second blue laser source emitting a second beam having a central wavelength and a fifth waveband, the second blue laser source having a second laser driver, a substrate having a wavelength conversion element for emitting light at a plurality of wavelengths after absorption of a light beam at an excitation wavelength within a fifth waveband of the second blue laser source and a beam combiner for combining the combined first beam and the converted beam, which combination results in a white beam. Dichroic losses can be reduced by using a green phosphor together with red laser assistance.

A projector device includes: a plurality of light sources each of which emits a different type of color light; a plurality of image forming elements each of which, upon irradiation with the different type of color light, forms a respective image corresponding to the different type of color; a plurality of sensors (101R, 101G, 101B) each of which detects a respective luminance of the different type of color light with which one corresponding image forming element, from among a plurality of image forming elements, is irradiated; and a controller (controller 302) that adjusts a white balance by correcting respective detection values detected by the plurality of sensors in accordance with the luminances of the images formed by the image forming elements corresponding to the colors of light detected by the sensors, and by controlling outputs from the plurality of light sources in accordance with the corrected values.

摘要: Some embodiments provide for a modular video projector system having a light engine module and an optical engine module. The light engine module can provide narrow-band laser light to the optical engine module which modulates the laser light according to video signals received from a video processing engine. Some embodiments provide for an optical engine module having a sub-pixel generator configured to display video or images at a resolution of at least four times greater than a resolution of modulating elements within the optical engine module. Systems and methods for reducing speckle are presented in conjunction with the modular video projector system.

摘要: A device for quasi-phase-matched frequency doubling of broadband light with uncorrelated spectral phase includes a nonlinear optical material, which in turn includes a domain-reversed grating organized in a series of sections along propagation direction of the broadband light through the nonlinear optical material. Each of the sections is characterized by a respective period of the domain-reversed grating. The period within a first connected subset of the series alternates between two discrete values along the propagation direction. A method for designing the domain-reversed grating includes determining a grating function model describing an ideal nonlinear coefficient of a domain-reversed grating, and discretizing the grating function model to a manufacturable grating function having period restricted to a discrete set of manufacturable periods.
