摘要: The present disclosure relates, according to some embodiments, to systems for purifying proteins and carbohydrate rich products from photosynthetic aquatic species and compositions thereof. In some embodiments, a system for recovering a highly soluble protein product from a biomass comprising a microcrop (e.g., Lemna) may comprise (a) a lysing unit to lyse a first portion of the biomass to form a first portion of lysed biomass, (b) a first separating unit to separate the first portion of lysed biomass to generate a first portion of a juice fraction and a first portion of a solid fraction, (c) a second separating unit to separate the first portion of the juice fraction to generate a first portion of a first juice and a first portion of a first cake, (d) a first filtration unit to filter the first portion of the first juice to generate a first portion of a soluble protein and a first reject stream, (e) a second filtration unit to filter the first portion of the soluble protein to generate a first portion of a second soluble protein and a second reject stream, (f) a dewatering unit to concentrate the first portion of the second soluble protein to generate a first portion of a concentrated soluble protein, and (g) a drying unit to dry the first portion of the concentrated soluble protein to generate a first portion of a dry protein concentrate.

摘要: The present disclosure relates, according to some embodiments, to method of generating multiple products from a microcrop. A first juice, derived from a microcrop and containing microcrop protein, may be processed to generate products including a microcrop milk, a milk base, a milk mixture, a dried base powder, a green food product, and a colorless protein product. A first juice may be hydrolyzed and filtered to generate each of a decolored permeate and a green retentate which are, in turn, further processed into products. Use of a decolored permeate to generate products allows for consumer food products which contain microcrop protein but lack green coloration. Compositions of the products may be optimized through a combination of demineralization, drying, dewatering, mixing, formulating, and anti-microbial treatments including pasteurization. Polyphenol concentration of products may be reduced through adsorption and clarification.

摘要: The present disclosure relates, according to some embodiments, to an absorptive solid (e.g., an animal bedding) produced from a microcrop such as Lemna. An absorptive solid of the present disclosure may comprise (i) an odor-absorbing amount of chlorophyll, and (ii) a carbohydrate extracted from a microcrop, the carbohydrate itself comprising at least some of the odor-absorbing amount of chlorophyll. A process for generating an absorptive solid may comprise the actions of: (i) lysing a microcrop consisting of at least one photosynthetic aquatic species to generate a lysed microcrop; (ii) separating the lysed microcrop into a solid fraction and a juice fraction; (iii) separating the solid fraction to form a solid; and at least one of: (a) milling the solid to generate an absorptive powder, (b) shaping the solid to generate the absorptive pellet or an absorptive granule; and (c) extruding the solid to generate an absorptive extrudate.

摘要: The present disclosure relates, in some embodiments, to a method including demineralizing a protein liquor (i.e., a liquid portion of a lysed microcrop (e.g., Lemna) that has been separated to generate the liquid portion and a solid portion and having a composition including a soluble microcrop protein and a Vitamin B12) to generate a demineralized protein liquor. According to some embodiments, demineralizing the protein liquor may include diafiltration, ultrafiltration, nanofiltration, reverse osmosis filtration, electrodialysis, and/or passing the protein liquor through an ion exchange resin (e.g., an anion exchange resin. a trialkyl ammonium salt having three methyl groups). In some embodiments, a method may further include concentrating a demineralized protein liquor to generate at least one of a milk base and an electrolyte drink.
