    摘要: A base assembly is provided for a power pedestal including an elongated housing and a plurality of electrical conductors enclosable by the elongated housing. The elongated housing has a first end and a second end disposed opposite and distal from the first end. The base assembly includes a power pedestal base member having a first end and a second end disposed opposite and distal from the first end. The second end of the base member is structured to be coupled to a platform. A connecting mechanism, such as a hinge assembly, is disposed at or about the first end of the base member and removably couples the first end of the elongated housing to the base member without a number of separate fasteners, thereby facilitating removal of the elongated housing from the base member. An electrical bus mount may be removably coupled to a mounting surface of the base member.

    摘要: A base assembly is provided for a power pedestal including an elongated housing and a plurality of electrical conductors enclosable by the elongated housing. The elongated housing has a first end and a second end disposed opposite and distal from the first end. The base assembly includes a power pedestal base member having a first end and a second end disposed opposite and distal from the first end. The second end of the base member is structured to be coupled to a platform. A connecting mechanism, such as a hinge assembly, is disposed at or about the first end of the base member and removably couples the first end of the elongated housing to the base member without a number of separate fasteners, thereby facilitating removal of the elongated housing from the base member. An electrical bus mount may be removably coupled to a mounting surface of the base member.

A plurality of input power terminals are mounted to the pedestal member and structured to be electrically connected to a power source. A number of output power receptacles are mounted to the enclosure. Each of a number of circuit interrupters includes a line terminal electrically connected to one of the input power terminals and a load terminal electrically connected to one of the number of output power receptacles. A surge suppression module is mounted within the enclosure and is structured to suppress a transient voltage associated with the input power terminals and the number of output power receptacles.

The clamp-jaw contact assembly includes a stationary contact structured to engage a corresponding one of the meter socket receptacles, a moveable contact pivotally coupled to the stationary contact by a pivot member, such as a rivet, and a clamping element which is coupled to the stationary contact and includes an integral jaw spring. The integral jaw spring biases the moveable contact toward the stationary contact in order to secure a meter bayonet therebetween. The moveable contact also has a closed position in which it resists insertion of the meter bayonet between the moveable contact and the stationary contact.

The clamp includes a substantially coaxial threaded rod, threadedly secured to a movable jaw that may move between an open position and a closed position, guided between a pair of guide surfaces that are angled in an orientation that is not parallel to the threaded rod. The movable jaw may therefore be caused to be move laterally by rotating a knob at the end of the threaded rod that is located at the end of the clamp opposite the jaws, where it will provide the best access to itself, and minimize interference with meter removal.
