    摘要: A high pressure sodium lamp (100) having an evacuated glass envelope (6) with a plurality of electrically conductive support members therein and extending therethrough. An elongated arc tube (14) having a pair of electrodes (26) extending therethrough is affixed to the electrically conductive support members within the glass envelope. A gas fill includes a quantity of mercury and sodium within the elongated tube. The arc tube is selected from a translucent material that, when the lamp is operating, will have a wall temperature of about 1250 degrees Celsius, a wall loading of from about 18.9 to about 22.2 w/cm sqr., and a power consumption of from 150 to 400 watts. Further, the amount of mercury is reduced from 14.4 mgs/arc tube to 10.8 mgs/arc tube, allowing lamps having power consumption from 150 to 400 watts to pass the Toxicity Characteristics Leaching Procedure (TCLP).

    摘要: Variable backspace in electrode assemblies for high pressure sodium lamps is achieved by employing a hollow electrode base which has one end formed to frictionally engage an electrode, which electrode includes a solid core having a coil about one end thereof. The solid core is inserted into the electrode base a given distance and is maintained in this position by friction until welding is accomplished. The electrode base is provided with a positioning ring which is formed at the time the base is first formed. The electrode assemblies can be utilized with lamps having different arc lengths while using arc tubes having the same size.

    摘要: Electrodeless arc tubes for high pressure sodium discharge lamps comprise a substantially tubular, translucent body formed from a material comprising sintered polycrystalline alumina. The body has an inside diameter and an outside diameter and a given length. A fill comprising sodium and xenon are loaded within the body. At least one end-seal is provided for the body, the end-seal comprising a first alumina disc sealed within the inside diameter by compression, the first disc being spaced inwardly from an end of the body and having a substantially centrally located aperture therein. A second alumina disc seals the aperture, the second disc being bonded to the first disc and to the inner wall of the body by a sealing frit.

    摘要: An isolator circuit for use with a switching circuit for energizing a ballasted load in response to a control signal of preselected frequency superimposed on AC power circuits which supply the load. In the switching circuit, a triac is gated to conduct the AC power to the load by a circuit including an impedance element and a series resonant LC network tuned to the frequency of the control signal. The control signal may be one of a plurality of control signals having different frequencies superimposed on the power circuits. The isolator circuit is connected between the traic and the load and comprises a plurality of series connected parallel resonant LC circuits each tuned to block a respective one of the control signals. A series choke blocks spurious signal voltages.
