摘要: A gap setting tool for setting a gap between a pair of panels includes a first body portion, a second body portion, and a pin having a predetermined diameter. The first body portion, the second body portion, and the pin are movable relative to one another. One of the panels is fixed and the other panel is movably mounted adjacent thereto. The body portions are operable to be attached to respective ones of the pair of panels, such as by vacuum cups or the like, and drawn toward one another with the pin in the gap until the panels contact the pin.

摘要: The invention is directed to a connection between the equalizer beam and the walking beam in a walking beam type oil well pumping unit, the walking beam having a tail shaft rotatably mounted generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the beam. The connection comprises an equalizer beam and two support members spaced from one another lengthwise of the equalizer beam and rigidly secured to the beam, each support member having an arm extending outwardly toward the other support member, and each arm having a curved downwardly-facing bearing surfaces adapted to be engaged by a respective end of the tail shaft. A retainer associated with each support member holds its respective end of the tail shaft in engagement with the downwardly-facing bearing surface when forces tending to separate the shaft from the bearing surface are applied to the shaft.

摘要: The present invention provides an electrochemical sensor for the detection of an analyte, wherein the output or response of the electrochemical sensor approximates the dose-response behavior of a living organism upon exposure to the analyte. The electrochemical sensor comprises a housing including an inlet port therein to allow the analyte to enter the housing. The electrochemical sensor further comprises at least a first electrode and a second electrode within the housing. Electrical conductivity is maintained between the first electrode and the second electrode via an electrolyte system present within the housing. The electrochemical sensor further comprises a resistor in series electrical connection with the first electrode and the second electrode. This resistor has a resistance adapted to be sufficiently high such that the output of the electrochemical sensor over time at a particular concentration of the analyte approximates the response of a living organism to the analyte over time at that particular concentration. The present invention also provides a method of using an electrochemical sensor as describe above.

摘要: The present invention provides electrochemical sensors for the detection of nitric oxide comprising a housing in which is disposed a working electrode, a reference electrode and a counter electrode. The electrochemically active surface of the working electrode preferably comprises RuO.sub.2. The nitric oxide electrochemical sensors of the present invention are capable of resolving nitric oxide concentrations at least as low as approximately 0.1 ppm and are well suited for use in medical environments because of their insensitivity to many other gases commonly used in medical environments.

摘要: A flow modulator (48) for a butterfly valve (40) incorporates a first protrusion (64) on the high-pressure side (52) of the modulator and a second protrusion (66) on the low-pressure side (54). The second protrusion (66) is spaced from the leading edge (60) to define a surface portion (88) of the low-pressure side (54). In operation, the second protrusion (66) functions as a flow restrictor that increases pressure in a region (86) of the flow path (44) bordered in part by the second protrusion and the surface portion (88). This increase in pressure serves to minimize the net aerodynamically-induced closing torque exerted on the modulator (46). The height of the second protrusion and its distance from the leading edge are shown to be important design parameters. In addition, the use of a third protrusion (114) for reducing torque drop-off at high rotational angles is disclosed.
