    摘要: An improved system and method for pen-based handwritten and keystroke data input into a computer system is disclosed. The system and method receives pen-based data entry from multiple related input boxes within a handwriting area on a digitizer pad. Thread-based processing allows each input box or group of input boxes to be separately evaluated, providing for continuous character recognition. Character strokes entered into each input box or group of input boxes are saved and interpreted together to allow more complete recognition of naturally written characters. Improvements on keyboard layouts are also disclosed.

    摘要: A system and method is disclosed for synchronizing data between two or more devices connected to each other by a network. The devices execute instances of substantially identical applications storing data. A synchronization module executes on each of the devices. The synchronization module may monitor access to the databases and maintain a synchronization database of the changes to the databases. The synchronization databases of the devices are then synchronized. Conflicting changes to the database are resolved according to default protocols and user configured protocols. Conflict resolution protocols may be transmitted between devices prior to resolving conflicts.

    摘要: A system is disclosed including an electronic device having a case housing an operative portion, such as a sound system, CD Player, or the like. A bay is formed in the case and includes a communication channel interface electrically coupled to the operative portion. The system further includes a portable computer, such as a personal digital assistant (PDA). The portable computer is sized to fit within the bay having a communication channel thereof in data communication with the communication channel interface. The portable computer stores applications including one or more control applications programmed to generate control signals in response to user inputs. Applications may display an interface on a touch screen and receive user inputs therefrom. The control signals are transmitted to the operative portion which responds to the control signals by playing music, adjusting a volume level, and the like.

The outer wall includes rounded or faceted surfaces conforming to the hand of a user holding the electronic device. A cover of the electronic device hingedly secures thereto and includes a catch selectively maintaining the cover in a closed position. A power switch of the electronic device is positioned proximate the catch such that substantially simultaneous release of the catch and powering on of the device are enabled.

    摘要: A translator circuit for providing symmetrical switching delays for use with a power line for a differential amplifier having a first signal line and a complementary second signal line, the translator circuit including: a first voltage clamp coupled to the first signal line and to the power line for limiting a voltage differential between the power line and the first signal line; and a second voltage clamp coupled to the power line and the second signal line for limiting a voltage differential between the power line and the second signal line. The translator circuit provides reduced sensitivity to variations in process parameters, power supply voltages, temperature and manufacturing tolerances. The translator circuit also provides symmetrical tracking between the rise to rise and the fall to fall delays of an emitter coupled logic to complementary metal-oxide semiconductor translator circuit.

    摘要: A method of target discrimination and identification, on a computer including a processing unit and a non-volatile storage device, from a radar signal having a plurality of radar return signals, is presented. The method includes: modeling, on the computer, the radar return signals by linear prediction to produce linear prediction equations; solving, on the computer, the linear prediction equations by the Burg algorithm to produce linear prediction coefficients for a linear prediction coefficient polynomial; computing, on the computer, roots of the linear prediction coefficient polynomial to produce scattering modes; computing, on the computer, a distance of each of the scattering modes to a unit circle; computing, on the computer, a complex envelope for each mode of the scattering modes; and selecting, on the computer, target scattering modes from among the scattering modes based on the distance of the mode to the unit circle and the complex envelope of the mode.
