    摘要: A radio network resource controller directs a first network node associated with a first cell region, or a wireless terminal in communication through the first cell region, to measure and report radio resource-related data selected from the group consisting of: resource activity per channel; the number of transmitted power samples that exceed a threshold over a measurement period; and, channel quality samples that exceed a quality threshold. The controller then receives at least one measurement report of the radio resource-related data and, as a function of the radio resource-related data in the first cell region, dynamically reallocates the distribution of resources, such as radio-frequency channels, between the first cell region and at least a second cell region. The invention has a particular advantage in TDD mode of operation where efficient and dynamic interference mitigation is needed to combat the inherent mobile-to-mobile and base station-to-base station interference.

The method includes receiving a message from the radio access network (28). The measurement request message is configured to indicate that measurements are to be performed by the wireless terminal on downlink signals transmitted by the base station or by the base station on downlink signals transmitted by the base station. The method further comprises, as a result of or after receiving the message, changing operation of the wireless terminal (30) from a discontinuous mode to a modified mode to facilitate performance of the measurements. Relative to the discontinuous mode at least one of following are shortened or eliminated in the modified mode: (i) the non-reception periods, and (ii) the non-transmission periods. “Changing from a discontinuous mode . . . to a modified mode” includes one or more of: (1) changing mode of the wireless terminal (e.g., changing from a discontinuous mode [such as discontinuous reception (DRX) or discontinuous transmission (DTX)] to a continuous transmission mode); (2) changing from the discontinuous mode (a first discontinuous mode) to a modified discontinuous mode (a second discontinuous mode).

    摘要: Methods and apparatus for scheduling link resources in a wireless communication system are disclosed. In an exemplary method, a first scheduling policy vector, or SPV, is generated, the SPV including scheduling elements that prescribe a probability of use for each of several corresponding quantities of link resources. In some embodiments the link resources are LTE resource blocks. The SPV is transmitted to a mobile terminal for use in determining a quantity of link resource units to be scheduled in at least a first transmission time interval. The SPV may be transmitted along with a scheduling window parameter that specifies a period of applicability for SPV.
