    Abstract: A cooling apparatus for an engine comprising: a) a coolant reservoir comprising a coolant line outlet port; b) a tank for holding an aqueous urea solution for injection into an exhaust system of the engine; c) a coolant line for transferring a coolant fluid discharged from the coolant reservoir via the coolant line outlet port to the tank to enable, in use, heat exchange between the coolant fluid and the aqueous urea solution contained in the tank; d) a coolant control valve located on the coolant line for controlling flow of coolant fluid along the coolant line to the tank; and e) a filter for filtering the coolant fluid being discharged via the coolant line outlet port; wherein the filter comprises a filtering portion that is located within an interior of the coolant reservoir so that the coolant fluid is filtered within the coolant reservoir before the coolant fluid enters the coolant line.

    Abstract: An SCR injection system for an internal combustion engine is disclosed. Under certain conditions, reductant fluid supplied by the system may form deposits in a reductant injector. In order to dissolve the deposits, a reductant supply line includes at least a portion with a downward slope that is disposed above a reductant inlet of the reductant injector. This allows reductant fluid in the sloped portion to flow to the reductant inlet due to gravity. Advantageously, a bent portion is provided between the reductant inlet and the sloped portion in order to trap reductant fluid that may flow back towards the reductant injector when the system is purged.

    Abstract: The present disclosure is directed towards a method of controlling an engine system comprising an exhaust aftertreatment module and a controller. The exhaust aftertreatment module is for receiving exhaust gas from an internal combustion engine and comprises a reductant injector selectively operable to inject a reductant fluid from an injector outlet. The controller is configured to control injection of reductant fluid in one of a plurality of different regimes. A first regime comprises injecting reductant fluid in accordance with a first set of injection parameters for reacting with, and substantially reducing, one or more components of the exhaust gas in the exhaust aftertreatment module. A second regime comprises injecting reductant fluid in accordance with a second set of injection parameters for expelling solid reductant deposits formed over the injector outlet. The method comprises determining which of the plurality of regimes to implement. The first regime is implemented when the exhaust gas temperature is above a threshold temperature and the second regime is implemented when the exhaust gas temperature is below the threshold temperature.
