The apparatus is adapted, e.g. by knowing one or more slots (12, 24) therein, to receive part of the security member therein and the security has at least one projection (9A, 10A) for inserting into the apparatus, e.g. through the slot (12, 24). Modification t the apparatus to enable it to receive a security member are described as well as different types of security members. Apparatus for releasing the security member from the apparatus holding the storage media is also described.

摘要： Apparatus for releasing a magnetic security device used to inhibit unauthorised access to and/or unauthorised removal of an article. The apparatus has a first portion (1) for locating an article in a first direction (D1) and a second portion (2) for locating an article in a second direction (D2) perpendicular to the first direction (D1), so providing an L-shaped slot or receptacle capable of receiving articles of a wide range of shapes and sizes having a security device installed adjacent two substantially perpendicular sides thereof. The first and/or second portions include magnetic release means for releasing a lock securing the security device to the article and arranged to assist in locating the article in a third direction (M) perpendicular to the first and second directions (D1, D2) by magnetic attraction of the security device as the article is brought into contact with the first and second portions to align the magnetic security device with the magnetic release means.

摘要： Disclosed is an apparatus for holding information storage media such as a disk (4) having an aperture therein. The apparatus includes, among other elements, a base portion and engaging means for releasably engaging the information storage media via said aperture. The engaging means includes at least one arm resiliently cantilevered to the base portion, retaining means for engaging and retaining the information storage media on the apparatus, and release means. The depression of the release means disengages the retaining means and the information storage media. A locating means is provided for receiving a security member as it is inserted beneath the engaging means in a first direction parallel to the base portion so as to inhibit operation of the release means. The locating means is arranged to locate the security member laterally as it is inserted beneath the engaging means.

摘要： The disclosed subject matter relates to an architecture that can scale content resolution in order to mitigate errors in a provisioned service of a communication network, such as a wireless service or a femtocell service that integrates with DSL or other broadband carriers. The architecture can identify fault conditions relating to e.g., bandwidth oversubscription or symbolization integrity. Based upon such identification, the architecture can alter encoding format codecs of certain types of content in order to reduce their resolution/quality, thereby mitigating bandwidth oversubscription fault conditions or freeing up space (without necessarily increasing bandwidth) to insert additional FEC code.

摘要： A method of making an injection moulded container for housing information storage media, e.g. a DVD, the container having a base portion (10) and a lid portion (11) moveable about a spine portion (12) between open and closed configurations and holding means (15) for holding the media within the container, the method involving the use of an injection moulding tool comprising two carrier units (40, 41) each adapted to receive a plurality of inserts therein which define a cavity for forming the container: a first set of the inserts (50-59) for forming a first set of features of the container being formed of a first material, e.g. steel, and a second set of. inserts (42-45) for forming a second set of features of the container being formed of a second material, e.g a copper alloy, the first set of inserts (50-59) being machined to the required shape for fitting within the carrier units (40, 41) and for forming the first set of features and the second set of inserts (42-45) being machined so as to fit within the carrier units (40, 41) but one or more of the second set of inserts (42-45) being formed with excess material on surfaces thereof defining said second set of features pending a decision as to the precise shape of said second set of features, whereby once a decision has been made the tool can be completed by machining said excess material to the required shape and assembling the inserts in the mould.
