    摘要: An optical sight comprises an elongate housing defining a light channel. A lens is provided at one end of the light channel and has a partially reflecting surface. A laser diode is energised by a pulsating electric current delivered by a battery powered energising circuit, and the energised laser diode emits light towards the reflecting surface to produce a light spot by direct imaging of the laser diode on the surface. The light spot shall be superimposed on the target when sighting through the light channel from the other end thereof.

    摘要: Magnetic resonance methods are provided for determining the mass of samples in vials (1) in a production line, each sample having a net magnetisation capability, including the steps of applying a first magnetic field in a first direction in an interrogation zone (25) for creating a net magnetisation within a sample located within the interrogation zone (25), applying an alternating magnetic field in a second direction in the interrogation zone (25) for temporarily changing the net magnetisation of the sample located within the interrogation zone (25), monitoring energy emitted by the sample as the net magnetisation of the sample returns to its original state and generating an output signal whose current amplitude is proportional to the energy emitted, comparing the current amplitude with like data obtained from at least one similar sample of known mass, and determining the mass of the sample. The step of applying an alternating magnetic field includes the step of triggering application of the alternating magnetic field when the sample is located at a position (PM) within the interrogation zone (25) with the current amplitude at its maximum.

    摘要: A surgical access assembly for positioning within an opening in tissue including an outer frame positionable outside a patient and defining an opening therein dimensioned to receive a surgical instrument therethrough. The outer frame includes first and second portions. The first portion is biased into locking engagement with the second portion such that a first engagement structure is in locking engagement with a second engagement structure. An inner member is positionable within a patient and a flexible member extends between the inner member and outer member and is operatively associated with the outer member. The first portion is movable to overcome the bias to move the first and second engagement structures to a disengaged position, wherein in the disengaged position at least one of the first and second portions is movable with respect to the other portion to adjust the tension on the flexible member to retract tissue.
