    摘要: A container assembly and a method of constructing such an assembly has an outer container (1) a side wall (3) of which forms an open top, and has a blow moulded inner container (7) which forms a liner to the container (1). The liner (7) has a neck (8) which is secured to an internal flnage (4) extending from the outer container. The flange (4) may be moulded integral with either the lener (7) or the outer container (1). A lid (10) has and external annular recess (12) which snap engages with an annular rib (5) on the flange (4) to form a sealed chamber in the assembly. The lid (10) and liner (7) are formed of the same first plastic material (for example PET) while the outer container (1) is formed of a different second plastics material (for example, polypropylene) so that the sealed chamber is defined wholly by the first plastics material which may be expensive but resistance to corrosion from contents (such as paint) stroed in the chamber while the second plastics of the outer container may be inexpensive but non-resistant to corrosion from the contents in the chamber.

    摘要: A moulded screw-cap for a container has a plurality of screw-thread ridges 24 formed internally of the skirt 19 of the cap each ridge having helical first portion 25 extending away from the top 18 and a second portion 26 of substantially zero helix angle. The circumferential distance A between the nose 28 of portion 26 and the line 29 of the lower face of portion 25 of each ridge 24 is less than the circumferential distance between the thread ridges on the container. A transition portion 27 is provided between portions 25 and 26 and, during application of the cap to a container allows the portions 26 to drop into the gaps between adjacent thread ridges on the container sufficiently to bring the upper surfaces of portion 26 into correct position for engagement with complementary inclined surfaces of the projections on the container, so that no downward pressure need be applied to the cap.

    摘要: A plastics container assembly has a tubular wall 1 and a bottom end cap 2 fitted thereto to form a base. The wall 1 has an internal flexible and integral peripheral sealing flange 7 which is displaced by abutment with a closure wall 2a during fitting of the end cap to the side wall so that an annular rib 8 on the cap snap engages with an annular groove 5 in the side wall. A flange 12 on the bottom cap overlies the bottom end of the side wall 3 and may be permanently bonded thereto by welding. The flange 7 presents a smoothly curved concave profile 13 and provides a smooth transition 14 with the closure wall 2a.Fluid seals are provided by abutting surfaces between the rib 8 and groove 5, between the flange 12 and bottom of the wall 1 and between the sealing flange 7 and wall 2a.In a modification the annular rib is located on the wall 1 to snap engage with an annular groove in the cap 2 and the sealing flange 7 is omitted so that the smoothly curved concave profile is formed by an upward extension wall of the bottom cap 2.
