Abstract:
A novel and improved airbrush support and guidance apparatus which permits an airbrush to be held at a uniform standoff distance and at a preselected orientation with respect to a workpiece surface while traversing the workpiece surface in a preselected path of travel including freehand or generally curvilinear paths of travel, as well as, linear, and circular arc paths of travel, while maintaining a uniform standoff and orientation respect to the workpiece surface to provide for increased precision in the rendering of airbrush artwork.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a system and method for detecting bats from a remote location. In one aspect the invention provides a bat detection system comprising an upper detection unit connected to a base computer unit. The upper detection unit can be positioned on a vertical structure, and a second lower detection unit, or additional detection units, can also be positioned on the vertical structure. Each detection unit comprises a housing which is connected to, and contains, an audio detector. The base computer unit is enclosed by a housing and comprises a data processor, a data storage device, and a remote communication interface device. The data processor is operatively connected to the data storage device, remote communication interface device, and the audio detectors of any detection units positioned on the vertical structure. The base computer unit communicates with a remote computer transferring information regarding the bat sounds detected by the detection units.
Abstract:
Etch depth of a material in a semiconductor wafer may be determined by forming a production region and a test region of the wafer, the test region having a test pattern for determining etch depth on a the wafer. The semiconductor wafer is comprised of a base layer, an intermediate layer above and visually distinguishable from the base layer, and a mask of photoresist material formed atop the intermediate layer. The mask of photoresist material has an areal photoresist coverage that varies across a horizontal axis. When the wafer is etched, a visible boundary can be seen between a region where the intermediate layer has been entirely etched away, and a region where at least some of the intermediate layer remains. The horizontal position of this visible boundary corresponds to the vertical etch depth in the production region., after etching of the semiconductor wafer.
Abstract:
This solution relates to a camera system including an enhanced timer functionality in a camera module. The enhanced timer functionality includes defining a first synchronization point triggering a first set of exposing functionalities by a sensor internal signal as a response to a first command, and controlling the exposure internally according to said first synchronization point.
Abstract:
A system for collecting, storing and displaying dermatological images for the purpose of monitoring and diagnosis of skin conditions and skin cancers, including melanoma. A hand-held unit illuminates a section of the patient's skin, and an imaging device generates imaging signals from light derived from a skin section. Pairs of light output ports in the hand-held unit are arranged such that their intensity distributions overlap at their half-intensity levels so that the resulting summation of their intensities has a flat central region. Three image stores are maintained, one for lesion images, one for “nearby skin” images, and one for reference-white images. The “nearby skin” images are used by the system software to automatically determine the skin/lesion border. The reference white images are used to set the dynamic range of the instrument and to compensate for lighting irregularities. Two images of the same lesion taken at different times may be displayed simultaneously so that changes in the lesion may be determined. The calibration system is designed so that image data taken on any of multiple machines built to the same specification will be corrected back to a common reference standard to ensure absolute accuracy in colour rendition.
Abstract:
A method to create a layout of a semiconductor device for the purpose of fabricating the semiconductor device involves first providing a plurality of partial-area layout cells and then generating the layout of the semiconductor device by placing the plurality of the partial-area layout cells together. The layout can be conveniently expanded to a desirable size by replicating or repeating certain repeatable cells.
Abstract:
An erasably markable luminescent article formed of a coated substrate that is markable with dry wipe inks without causing permanent discernible distortion of the substrate. The surface after marking is substantially fully erasable. The surface is provided by a smooth coating of cured lacquer perferably a radiation cured lacquer, for example, electron beam radiation cured urethane acrylate. The luminescent appearance results from a phosphorescent layer between the substrate and an unpigmented cured lacquer coating.
