摘要： A painting method produces a realistic depiction of light areas, dark areas, an appearance of reflections, color gradation, textures, form and space, and an illusion of depth by overlapping the 1st, 2nd and 3rd planes. The image is created as all these formations emerge simultaneously. An oil or water coating and a corresponding oil or water base paint are prepared. A base having a glossy smooth surface is obtained. Both sides of the base are soaked and then any excess liquid is removed. The coating is applied over the wetted, glossy, smooth surface and a layer of paint is applied over the coating. Paint and coating merged into s single entity. A tool is then used to redistribute the mixture of paint and coating to create gradients of color to complete an image.

The appliqué has at least three bleed-resistant color pigments, including a bleed-resistant magenta pigment, that will not bleed or show through a coat of paint once the appliqué is painted over for redecorating. A plurality of dry-transfer appliqués are also provided having designs corresponding to a common design theme. The appliqués can be placed by the consumer to provide a custom design suited to that consumer's personal taste.

A shoulder extends from the main body, and a guide extends from the shoulder for following a guide track formed in a strip positioned on a surface of the vehicle, wherein the track is substantially parallel to the desired position of the pinstripe. The strip is secured in position on the surface of the vehicle using adhesive which permits removal of the strip from the surface of the vehicle without leaving a residue, and re-use of the strip on a surface of another vehicle.

An inflatable disk-shaped platen is coupled for rotation with the upstanding shaft of an electrical motor. An inflatable splash container partially encloses the motor and platen to prevent splashing of paint from the rapidly rotating workpiece onto nearby objects while allowing the user to pour paint onto the workpiece through the open top. The device optionally comprises as an additional safeguard against splashing an inflatable annular cover which engages the upper rim of the splash container sidewall and which includes a central opening through which the user may access the workpiece.
