Abstract:
An adjustment is made to the size of an original graphic data object in a substantially rectangular original screen to obtain a target graphic data object on a substantially rectangular target screen having a different aspect ratio than that of the original screen. The size of the original graphic data object is proportionally increased to obtain the target graphic data object on the target screen. The size of the target graphic data object on the target screen is non-proportionally increased by the addition of a stretch distance thereto where a line projecting from a resizing point on and perpendicular to an edge of the original screen intersects the original graphic data object.
Abstract:
A lightweight spherical baseball like training ball has a hollow polyethylene plastic core adhered to a stitched white colored synthetic leather cover with a thin layer of adhesive. The lightweight ball has raised seams and measures in circumference similar to the ball circumference size mandated by Major League Baseball or softball rules whereby the ball is suitable for baseball and softball training and playing variations of the game of baseball or softball in confined areas.

Abstract:
A wind resistance mechanism for an exercise apparatus is provided which includes a plurality of bendable blades for changing the form of the wind-facing side thereof or adjusting the wind-facing angle. A movable clamping device includes a hub supported on an output shaft of an exercise apparatus. A first and a second disc are mounted on the hub. At least one of both discs performs a reciprocating movement in axial direction. An external force is applied to the discs for changing the form of the wind-facing side of the blades or adjusting the wind-facing angle, thereby adjusting the wind resistance.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a structure of rocker arms with optical sensing control for an exercise apparatus. The rocker arm of an exercise apparatus includes a handgrip. At least an optical sensor in accordance with the invention is positioned within a finger groove of the handgrip. The finger groove is so constructed that its form corresponds to the finger pad of the finger of an operator. Meanwhile, the finger groove is provided with an aperture in which the optical sensing element is hidden. The optical sensing element is connected to a console of the exercise apparatus through a conducting wire for setting different functions (exercise speed, slope or resistance) by means of effective detection signals. Therefore, the exercise apparatus is operable by means that a finger of both hands is slightly moved at fixed point during the exercise session.
Abstract:
A fuel cell having: a proton exchange membrane; anode and cathode housings containing chambers; a three-dimensional anode and cathode. Each housing may have a feed passage, a waste passage, and two through passages. The anode feed passage and the anode waste passage are each coupled to the anode chamber and to one of the cathode through passages and vice versa. The anode chamber may have bacteria capable of donating electrons to the anode upon exposure to a fuel. Solutions may be circulated through the passages and chambers.
Abstract:
An acceleration sensor for exercise apparatuses having a signal producer, a signal amplifying and transmitting apparatus and a microprocessor. The signal producer consists of a sensing coil and a permanent magnet. The permanent magnet is axially movable within the sensing coil without contact therewith. Exposure of the permanent magnet to a certain force results in a necessary slide movement. In this way, corresponding signals of different current values are created in accordance with the sliding speed of the permanent magnet and received by the sensing coil. The signal amplifying and transmitting apparatus is responsible for receiving and amplifying the current values sensed by the sensing coil, and the amplified current values are transmitted to the microprocessor. The microprocessor includes built-in programs to process the signals of the amplified current values for determining the acceleration of the object to be measured.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a multi-layer software architecture which includes a MPEG application, a plurality of message queues, and a servo software. An optical disc reader is controlled and directed by the servo software in order to read the information on the optical disc. Both the MPEG application and the servo software share at least a common data buffer as the storage of read-out information. In the embodiment, the MPEG application receives information from the servo software for playback by means of the plurality of message queues.
Abstract:
A foldable rowing machine having a base, a sliding seat bar, and a wire-winding wheel. A resistance mechanism box extending from the base cooperates with an upright post to receive a rotating shaft in a shaft hole for rotatably supporting the sliding seat bar and the wire-winding wheel. Accordingly, in rotating the sliding seat upwardly and downwardly on the rotating shaft, the sliding seat bar is foldable in a storage and a operational position, respectively.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an adjustable handle support of an exercise apparatus having a main frame, two rocker arms on the main frame and two planks in connection with power source (e.g. motor, flywheel, hydraulic cylinder, etc.). The rocker arms are individually movable in a swing motion or jointly movable with the planks. An adjusting mechanism is interposed between the handle support and the rocker arm for adjusting the handle support to suitable angles for different operators.
