The method determines a lower spatial resolution model image based upon the model image and determining respective angular orientations for the lower spatial resolution model image. The method determines edge pixels of an input image using an edge based technique, and an angular orientation for each of the edge pixels of the input image. The method determines a lower spatial resolution input image based upon the input image and determining respective angular orientations for the lower spatial resolution input image. The method matches the lower spatial resolution model image with the lower spatial resolution input image to determine candidate locations of an object within the input image and based upon the candidate locations matching the input image with the model image.

    摘要: A method of illuminating a display includes spatially varying the luminance of a multi-colored light source illuminating a plurality of pixels of the display in response to receiving a plurality of pixel values, and varying the transmittance of a light valve of the display having filters corresponding to the multi-colored light source in response to receiving the plurality of pixel values. The illumination is modified for a plurality of pixel values based upon modification of the luminance of the light source and varying the transmittance of the light valve. The modifying is further based upon modification of at least one of the multi-colored light sources together with modification of the transmittance of the light valve corresponding to at least one of the filters of a different color than the at least one of the multi-colored light sources in such a manner that increases the color gamut of the display.

A system for capturing a field sequential color image includes an optical capture mechanism for capturing a scene frame-by-frame in frame intervals which operates at a predetermined shutter speed; a color shutter for producing a first color component set having plural first color components therein, thereby modifying the spectral transmission of the scene as a function of time; a CFA area sensor for sensing the first color components, wherein each first color component of the scene is detected at a different point in time within a frame; an array field selector for dividing the scene into a second color component set having plural second color components therein; and a field-to-frame combiner for combining the second color components into a frame image.
