摘要: The invention relates to a signal comprising video information and associated playback information, the video information and associated playback information being organized according to a playback format, the video information comprising a primary video stream for two-dimensional (2D) display, and an additional information stream for enabling three-dimensional (3D) display, wherein that the associated playback information comprises display information indicating the types of display possible. The invention also relates to a method and device for playback of such a signal, the method comprising receiving the video information and the associated playback information, processing the display information to determine that both two-dimensional (2D) display possible and three-dimensional (3D) display are possible for the received video information; determining a playback setting of a playback device indicating whether the video information should be displayed two-dimensional (2D) or three dimensional (3D); and processing for display either the primary video stream or the primary video stream and the additional information stream, in accordance with the playback setting of the playback device.

摘要: A method of creating a three-dimensional image signal including receiving a first image component, receiving a second component for creating a three-dimensional image in combination with the first image component, receiving a text component for including in the three-dimensional image, receiving a data component comprising location information describing the location of the text component within the three-dimensional image, and creating a three-dimensional image signal comprising the first image component, the second component, the text component, and the data component. The signal is rendered by rendering a three-dimensional image from the first image component and the second component, the rendering including rendering the text component in the three-dimensional image. The rendering of the text component includes adjusting three-dimensional parameters of the three-dimensional image in the location of the rendered text component.

The digital data can be reproduced in a first mode and in an at least second mode, the operability of a selected mode is monitored and in a situation of failure, a switching between the mode in which a failure is detected to a mode which is operable can be made, so that least some functionality is ensured. An apparatus is disclosed, the apparatus being operable in a first mode where the digital data is accessed in a first format, and the apparatus being operable in an at least second mode where the digital data is accessed in at least a second format. Also a system, a method, a computer readable code and a data stream are disclosed.

摘要: A non-transitory three-dimensional image signal includes a first image component, a second component for creating a three-dimensional image in combination with the first image component, and a text component that includes text-based subtitles and/or presentation graphics-based bitmap images for including in the three-dimensional image. A shared Z-location component includes Z-location information describing the depth location of the text component within the three-dimensional image. The signal is rendered by rendering the three-dimensional image from the first image component and the second component. The rendering includes rendering the text-based subtitles and/or presentation graphics-based bitmap images in the three-dimensional image. Further, the rendering of the text component includes adjusting the depth location of the text-based subtitles and/or presentation graphics-based bitmap images based on the shared Z-location component. The Z-location for both text-based and presentation-graphics-based subtitles may be the same and only needs to be stored once per stream.

The device has generating means (52) for generating an output signal for transferring the video data via a high-speed digital interface like HDMI to a 3D display, which selectively generate a 3D display signal for displaying the 3D video data on a 3D display operative in a 3D mode, a 2D display signal for displaying 2D video data on the 3D display operative in a 2D mode, or a pseudo 2D display signal by including 2D video data in the output signal for displaying the 2D video data on the 3D display operative in the 3D mode. Processing means (53) detect a request to display 2D video data on the 3D display, while the 3D display is operative in the 3D mode, and, in response to the detection, the generating means are set to generate the pseudo 2D display signal for maintaining the 3D mode of the 3D display.
