    摘要: A base station monitors the uplink load and sends control signals to one or more mobile terminals to selectively enable and disable compressed mode operation. The base station can divide the mobile terminals into groups and can assign different compressed mode patterns to different groups of mobile terminals so that the transmissions from mobile terminals in different groups while in compressed mode are not synchronized. If load imbalances occur, the network can reassign mobile terminals from one group to another.

    摘要: A transceiver circuit and a method in a wireless communication network are provided, where a signal power level for a signal received at the transceiver circuit is measured and compared to a predefined threshold power level. At least two groups of power amplifiers may be used, where one group is optimized for high efficiency above the predefined threshold power level, and one group is optimized for high efficiency below the predefined threshold power level. The amplifiers may be used to amplify the received signal depending on the signal power level in relation to the predefined power threshold level. The signal may then be filtered by duplex filters and forwarded to a diversity antenna or a main antenna where it is transmitted over an air interface.

    摘要: To perform closed loop power control, a receiving station measures the signal strength of a received signal transmitted from a transmitting station, generates periodic power control commands based on the signal strength measurements, and transmits the periodic power control commands to a transmitting station to control the transmit power level of the transmitting station. A power control filter is used to adapt the power control mechanism when the transmitting station is operating in a compressed mode to compensate for intermittent transmission by the transmitting station in the compressed mode.

    摘要: A method and apparatus are disclosed for aiding shoppers. A shopper enters a product search query into a hand-held device and, via Near-Field Communication (NFC) technology, transfers the query to a terminal at a shopping establishment. The terminal forwards the search query to a search engine over a network and the search engine, after consulting a database, returns results meeting the criteria of the search query to the terminal for presentation on a display at the terminal. The shopper is then offered the option of transferring the results data, via NFC devices located in the hand-held device and the terminal, from the terminal to a memory in the hand-held device.
