摘要: Systems and methods for wireless stimulation of biological tissue (e.g. nerves, muscle tissue, etc.) and, in one exemplary implementation, to therapy for glaucoma based on the wireless administration of energy to the eye of a mammalian subject (e.g. human, rodent, etc.) to reduce an elevated intraocular pressure (IOP) involving the use of a multi-coil wireless power transfer assembly. The multi-coil wireless power transfer assembly may be used alone or in combination with a stimulation coil that can be implanted in the eye of a mammalian subject or within a contact lens worn by a mammalian subject.

Some embodiments include a biomodulation system including a non-implantable assembly including a source for wireless power transfer and a data communications system, an implantable assembly including a power management module configured to continuously generate one or more operating voltage for the implantable assembly using wireless power transfer from the non-implantable assembly, a control module operably connected to at least one communication channel and at least one stimulation output, the control module including a processor unit to process information sensed via the at least one communication channel and, upon determining a condition exists, to generate an output to trigger the generation of a stimulus.

摘要: Systems and methods for wireless glaucoma therapy involving the administration of energy to an eye of a mammalian subject in a therapeutically effective amount sufficient to (1) decrease the inflow of aqueous humor into the anterior segment of the eye and/or (2) increase the outflow of aqueous humor from the anterior segment of the eye. Systems and methods involve the use of wireless power transfer (WPT) and optional stimulus coils adapted to be positioned on and/or within the eye. A Frensel lens is also disclosed for vision correction, which may be used alone or in combination with the system for wireless glaucoma therapy.
