Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a node may receive a configuration associated with measuring an energy level of a first frequency channel of an unlicensed radio frequency band, wherein the configuration indicates a set of measurement occasions during which the energy level is to be measured on the first frequency channel; measure the energy level on the first frequency channel in a first measurement occasion, of the set of measurement occasions, according to the configuration, and operate in association with a second frequency channel of the unlicensed radio frequency band based at least in part on measuring the energy level on the first frequency channel, wherein the second frequency channel is paired with the first frequency channel for the unlicensed radio frequency band. Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for transmitting and detecting channel reservation preamble in a NR shared spectrum are described. An aspect may include determining whether a first reservation preamble of a first operator is received on a first time slot of multiple time slots of a downlink channel from a first network entity, and transmitting a second reservation preamble of the first operator on an uplink channel to the second network entity. Another aspect may include generating a first reservation preamble of a first operator based on at least one of a compressed representation in a signal space, a basis function of the signal space, or a CAZAC sequences; and transmitting, on a first timeslot of multiple time slots of a downlink channel, the first reservation preamble of the first operator to at least a UE. In another aspect, the SFN transmission of the first and second reservation preambles, and the low latency detection methods of the reservation preambles have been disclosed.

Abstract: A periodic quiet interval is provided for base stations attempting to access a shared transmission medium in NR-U. The base station activates a quiet interval at a periodic interval and transmits on the medium based on the quiet interval. The base station may reduce a Tx power, not transmit, and/or may increase a minimum value of a contention window for BEB during the quiet interval. The base station may receive a request from a second base station to activate the quiet interval, and may determine if a Tx power of the base station is larger than the maximum Tx power of the second base station. The base station may also receive the request as relayed through a UE. The quiet interval can thus ameliorate a starvation effect of BEB in NR-U by allowing base stations with smaller Tx power greater opportunity to control the medium while maintaining BEB in NR-U.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A base station may perform a Listen-Before-Talk (LBT) procedure to obtain access to a wireless communication channel. The base station may then determine a pattern of synchronization signal block (SSB) transmissions based on an outcome of the LBT procedure and transmit the pattern of SSB transmissions after obtaining access to the wireless communication channel. The outcome of the LBT procedure may include obtaining access to the wireless communication channel after a missed opportunity for at least one SSB transmission in a discovery reference signal (DRS) measurement timing configuration (DMTC) window. A user equipment (UE) may determine system timing based on a received SSB transmission.
