Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure describe authentication of a user equipment (UE) in a network. It can be determined, by the UE, to access a discovered network for wireless communications, and based on a service provider associated with the discovered network, to use a modified universal subscriber identity module (USIM) subscription stored in the UE for authentication with the discovered network. The UE can obtain a subscriber identifier for authenticating on the discovered network via the authentication, where the subscriber identifier is generated based at least in part on a service provider identifier associated with the service provider and a modified mobile subscriber identity associated with the service provider. The UE can send the subscriber identifier to a node of the discovered network for the authentication.
Abstract:
This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus for managing information in a smart storage device. In one aspect a smart storage device is provided that is configured to be coupled to a wireless communications apparatus operating in a wireless communications network. The smart storage device includes a memory configured to store network access information for accessing services of the network. The smart storage device further includes a controller configured to send a message to the wireless communications apparatus including data notifying the wireless communications apparatus of an update to the network access information. The data further includes a command that the wireless communications apparatus suspend an active operation of the wireless communications apparatus and initiate updating information managed by the wireless communications apparatus based on one or more conditions. The updating of the information is based on at least a portion of the updated network access information.
Abstract:
In an aspect of the present disclosure, a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided to overcome the deficiencies discussed above. The apparatus may include a frontend component and a storage element. The frontend component may include a processor configured to communicate with a second device and to receive a signal from the second device, the signal providing power to the apparatus and providing profile information. The storage element may be coupled to the frontend component and may be configured to receive the profile information and to store the profile information while powered by the frontend component through the signal from the second device.
Abstract:
Systems and methods for the subscriber identity module (SIM) access profile (SAP) over Bluetooth. In one embodiment, intermediate responses from a SIM card containing procedure bytes are not transmitted to the client, but rather the appropriate response is generated by the server and sent to the SIM card. In another embodiment, the client groups together multiple command APDUs (Application Protocol Data Unit) into one message before sending out to the server, and the message may also contain parameters indicating various actions to be taken by the server in case an error is generated. In another embodiment, the client instructs the server to perform poling of the SIM card in an autonomous manner for any proactive data. Embodiments are not limited to a SIM card, and are applicable to other types of smart cards, such as an UICC (Universal Integrated Circuit Card).
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are presented herein for improved operation of a Universal Integrated Circuit Card (UICC) of one or more user equipment (UE). For example, an example method of wireless communications is presented, which may include monitoring, by a UE, one or more items received from a UICC of the UE during a UICC operation. In addition, the example method may also include determining that at least one of (a) a number of the one or more items having a first item type exceeds a threshold number, or (b) an elapsed time since the UICC operation started exceeds a threshold time. Moreover, the example method may include providing, based on the determining, a notification to a user interface associated with the UE indicating that the UICC operation is ongoing.
Abstract:
Techniques for providing an interface between a UICC and a processor, included in an access terminal, that supports asynchronous command processing by the UICC, are described. A first complex command, with a first processing time, may be received from the processor. An initial response to the first command, including a token, may be sent to the processor. The first command may be processed for the first processing time. At least one additional command, having a processing time shorter than the first processing time, may be received from the processor. Processing of the first command may be completed. Processing of a current one of the at least one additional command, which was being processed before, during, or after completion of the processing of the first command, may be completed. A response to the current one of the at least one additional command, including the token, may be sent to the processor.
