    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The method may include a user equipment (UE) transmitting a capability message indicating a capability of the UE to support a positioning scheme for one or more reference signals within a precoding resource block group for a channel estimation procedure, receiving, based on the capability message, a control signal indicating a frequency allocation for the one or more reference signals for the channel estimation procedure, the frequency allocation for the one or more reference signals being based on the positioning scheme supported by the UE, receiving the one or more reference signals for the channel estimation procedure in accordance with the frequency allocation, and performing the channel estimation procedure using the one or more reference signals based on the precoding resource block group associated with the channel estimation procedure.

In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive an indication of a configuration for balanced code communication, the configuration indicating parameters of signals of balanced code communications having sequences, within codewords, that balance. The UE may receive, from a network node, a balanced code communication, the receiving comprising decoding a codeword of the balanced code communication and estimating one or more parameters of communicating with the network node based at least in part on the configuration and based at least in part on using a balancing property of the balanced code communication.
