Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for envelope tracking schemes for a node in a wireless communication network. One aspect provides a method for wireless communication by a transmitter device. The method generally includes: combining envelopes associated with subbands of an input signal to be amplified for transmission based on a combination function; amplifying, via an amplifier, the input signal to generate a transmission signal, the input signal being amplified based on a combined envelope signal, representing the combination of the envelopes, received at a supply input of the amplifier; and transmitting the transmission signal to a receiver device.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A second wireless device may perform an enhanced non-linearity correction procedure. For example, the second wireless device may transmit, to a first wireless device, a capability report and, additionally, or alternatively, a request for a statistical attribute report associated with a power amplifier (PA) of the first wireless device. The statistical attribute report may include one or more statistical attributes associated with one or more PA coefficients for the PA. The second wireless device may receive, in response to the request, the statistical attribute report and a data signal based on the one or more PA coefficients for the PA from the first wireless device. The second wireless device may perform, based on the statistical attribute report and the data signal, an enhanced non-linearity correction procedure on the data signal.

Abstract: Aspects relate to reconstructing a received non-linearly distorted (e.g., clipped) signal. A transmitting device may non-linearly distort a signal to be transmitted (e.g., by clipping peaks of the signal). This non-linear distortion may adversely affect decoding of the signal at a receiving device. To improve decoding performance at the receiving device, the transmitting device provides information regarding some of the non-linear distortion (e.g., information regarding a subset of the peaks that have been clipped) to the receiving device. The receiving device may reconstruct the signal based on this information (e.g., by reconstructing the subset of the peaks and adding the reconstructed peaks to the received clipped signal). In addition, the receiving device estimates the remaining non-linear distortion in the reconstructed signal (e.g., due to clipped peaks that were not indicated in the clipping information) by slicing the reconstructed signal and clipping the sliced signal, and provides a final reconstructed signal.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The method may include a user equipment (UE) transmitting a capability message indicating a capability of the UE to support a positioning scheme for one or more reference signals within a precoding resource block group for a channel estimation procedure, receiving, based on the capability message, a control signal indicating a frequency allocation for the one or more reference signals for the channel estimation procedure, the frequency allocation for the one or more reference signals being based on the positioning scheme supported by the UE, receiving the one or more reference signals for the channel estimation procedure in accordance with the frequency allocation, and performing the channel estimation procedure using the one or more reference signals based on the precoding resource block group associated with the channel estimation procedure.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The methods include a base station mapping transmitter antennas to one of a set of multiple antenna groups based on a power amplifier response of one or more transmitter antennas, determining a power amplifier model for one or more antenna groups based on the power amplifier response of the one or more transmitter antennas, and transmitting an indication of the power amplifier model for one or more antenna groups to a UE. The methods include the UE determining a power amplifier model for a transmitter antenna of the set of transmitter antennas based on the indication of the power amplifier model and communicating with the base station based on the power amplifier model for the transmitter antenna.
