    Abstract: Disclosed are methods, devices, systems, apparatus, servers, computer-/processor-readable media, and other implementations, including a method, performed at a first processor-based wireless device, that includes transmitting at a first time instance, from the first wireless device to a second wireless device, a wireless message including message content, and dynamically determining an adjustable timeout interval based, at least in part, on one or more network characteristics associated with a network comprising the first and/or second wireless devices. The method further includes transmitting at least one subsequent wireless message including at least some of the message content of the wireless message upon a determination that an acknowledgement message responsive to the wireless message transmitted at the first time instance was not received at the first wireless device within a time period, subsequent to the first time instance, greater or equal to the determined adjustable timeout interval.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) and a Secure User Plane Location (SUPL) Location Platform (SLP) support a SUPL positioning session for at least one uplink or uplink-downlink position method, such as uplink Angle of Arrival or multi-Round Trip Time. To support SUPL positioning for uplink or uplink-downlink position methods, the UE provides an identifier for a serving Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF) and an identifier for the UE to the SLP in a SUPL message. The SLP may exchange positioning messages with a serving base station for the UE using the identifier for the serving AMF and the identifier for the UE. The exchange of positioning messages may enable the SLP to request the serving base station to instigate transmission of uplink positioning reference signals by the UE which may be a key enabler for an uplink or uplink-downlink position method.

    Abstract: Techniques described herein provide means by which cell information indicative of a location of a UE may be conveyed to a location server over a 5G NR data connection using a SUPL message with an LTE cell ID data field. In some embodiments, for example, the UE may include the Cell ID of a LTE neighbor cell or information regarding a 5G NR serving cell, such as a portion of the 5G NR Cell ID or a reserved value or sequence identifying the 5G NR serving cell. The techniques may be applicable to the Secure User Plane Location (SUPL) solution defined by OMA and may enable a UE and a SUPL Location Platform (SLP) to support location of the UE using a version of SUPL without explicit support of 5G NR wireless access.
