Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to techniques for distributed scheduling to control interference for small data transactions using grant-less transmissions. A method for wireless communications by wireless node is provided. The method generally includes receiving, from a base station, a list of supported modulation and coding schemes (MCS) and at least one parameter to control interference, determining a data rate and duration for a grant-less transmission based on the list of supported MCS and the at least one parameter, selecting access resources to use for the grant-less transmission from a common pool of resources configured to be shared by a plurality of wireless nodes for grant-less transmissions, and transmitting the grant-less transmission using the selected access resources, at the determined data rate and for the determined duration

Abstract: A method and apparatus for demodulation reference signal (DMRS) communication are described. The method and apparatus include determining a DMRS pattern for at least two multiplexing schemes. In some aspects, the at least two multiplexing schemes may include orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) and single carrier frequency-division multiplexing (SC-FDM). Further, in some aspects, the DMRS pattern may correspond to a continuous tone pattern in each subframe transmitted in accordance with both SC-FDM and OFDM. Additionally, in some aspects, the DMRS pattern may correspond to a comb tone pattern in each subframe transmitted in accordance with both SC-FDM and OFDM. The method and apparatus further include transmitting a DMRS in accordance with at least one of the two multiplexing schemes and based on the DMRS pattern.

Abstract: At times a UE may have a data transmission that needs to extend beyond a resource grant in an ULRB portion of a slot. The UE may receive resource region reservation information from a base station and determine when to extend an UL transmission from the ULRB portion of a slot into the ULCB portion of the slot based resource region reservation information. The resource region reservation information may indicate ULCB resources which are reserved for PUCCH, PRACH, PUSCH, SRS, or other transmissions. The UE may determine to refrain from extending the data transmission into the ULCB when at least a portion of the data transmission would overlap reserved resources as indicated by the resource region reservation information.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for processing reference and data signals for uplink transmission. A method is provided for wireless communications. The method generally includes obtaining different sets of samples for at least one of: a data signal or a reference signal; spreading the different sets of samples for the at least one data signal or reference signal using separate discrete Fourier transform (DFT) processing blocks; interlacing the spreaded sets of samples by assigning the spreaded sets of samples from each of the separate DFT processing blocks to equally spaced tones; and transmitting the at least one data signal or reference signal on the assigned tones in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexed (OFDM) symbol.

Abstract: The present disclosure provides for adaptive resource management in new radio operations that favors the usage of resources for pilot signals and channel estimation in the transition slots of a slot burst, and the transmission of data in the subsequent slots of the slot burst. A device such as a user equipment (UE) and/or a base station may determine that the UE is operating in a transition state. The device may adapt a first numerology including a first number of symbols per slot used for transmission in the transition slots during the transition state, to a second scaled numerology including a second number of symbols per slot used for transmission in the subsequent slots after the transition state. A ratio of reference signal symbols to data symbol symbols may be greater in the transition slots than in the subsequent slots.

The method and apparatus include adapting the first frequency region to the second frequency region for transmitting one or both of a retransmission or a subsequent transmission based on the downlink grant.

The method generally includes acquiring network time, determining, based on the network time or an internal timer, that the mobile device is within a paging window wherein the mobile device can receive a paging message, and sending an indication message, in response to the determination. The mobile device may receive a response to the indication message, the response indicating whether or not there is a paging message for the mobile device.
