Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for increasing the transmit power of wireless communication devices operating on power spectral density (PSD)-limited wireless channels. Some implementations more specifically relate to LTF designs that support distributed transmissions. In some aspects, a transmitting device may obtain a sequence of values representing an LTF of a PPDU and may map the sequence of values to a number (N) of noncontiguous subcarrier indices of a plurality of subcarrier indices spanning a wireless channel according to a distributed tone plan. In some implementations, the transmitting device may modulate the sequence of values on N tones, representing a logical RU, and map the N tones to the N noncontiguous subcarrier indices, respectively. In some other implementations, the sequence of values may be obtained based on relative locations of the N noncontiguous subcarrier indices in the wireless channel.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for wireless communication, and particularly, methods, devices and systems for including signaling regarding enhanced features of new wireless communication protocols. The signaling may be included in various portions of a physical layer preamble of a wireless transmission. In some implementations, the physical layer preamble may be used to indicate puncturing of subbands or content channels that may carry further signaling in accordance with preamble signaling designs of this disclosure. The physical layer preamble signaling be parallelized for different subchannels of a wireless channel that consists of multiple subchannels. Some implementations of the physical layer preambles may be used to multiplex different types of wireless local area network communications into different subsets of the plurality of subchannels of the wireless channel.

Abstract: This disclosure provides wireless communication methods, components, devices and systems for link recovery in wireless communication networks. Some aspects more specifically relate to the recovery of lost wireless communication links for which initial link establishment has been aided by communications over anchor links of different frequency bands than those of the lost wireless communication links. According to some aspects, a recovery mechanism can be implemented that enables involved devices to recover such “extension” links using communications over their associated frequency bands, without needing to revert to communication over their corresponding anchor links. Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for amplitude shaping encoding, and specifically, for indicating boundaries in bitstreams encoded using amplitude shaping encoding. In some aspects, a transmitting device may insert, into an bitstream to indicate a boundary, a sequence of amplitude bits not associated with any patterns of bit values in a lookup table used for the encoding. In some other aspects, a transmitting device may monitor a length of the amplitude bits in a bitstream during the encoding and stop the encoding on information bits at an end of a current data unit responsive to the length reaching a threshold. In some other aspects, a transmitting device may monitor the length of the information bits and, for each data unit, determine whether a boundary is or would be reached. Responsive to determining that a boundary is or would be reached, the transmitting device may not include, before the boundary, any amplitude bits generated based on the information bits in the data unit, and instead add padding bits after a last amplitude bit before the boundary.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for generating a secure long training field (LTF). In some implementations, the secure LTF may include a randomized bit sequence that is difficult, if not impossible, to replicate by any device other than the transmitting device and the intended receiving device. For example, the transmitting device may use a block cipher or stream cipher to generate a pseudorandom bit sequence and may select a subset of bits of the pseudorandom bit sequence to be mapped to a sequence of modulation symbols representing an LTF symbol of the secure LTF. More specifically, each of the modulation symbols is mapped to a respective one of a number of subcarriers spanning a bandwidth of the secure LTF. The transmitting device may further transmit a physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) that includes the secure LTF to the receiving device.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatuses for wireless communication. An example apparatus selects a first resource unit (RU) of a plurality of RUs for transmitting a physical (PHY) layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) over a wireless medium. The first RU may include a set of contiguous tones occupying a first frequency bandwidth. The plurality of RUs may collectively span a second frequency bandwidth greater than the first frequency bandwidth. The apparatus maps the set of contiguous tones of the first RU to a set of non-contiguous tones distributed across the second frequency bandwidth using a tone mapping vector and a tone mapping offset associated with the first RU. The apparatus transmits the PPDU over the set of non-contiguous tones distributed across the second frequency bandwidth.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for encoding data for wireless communication to achieve a desired amplitude distribution. Some implementations more specifically relate to performing an encoding operation to shape the amplitudes of the resultant symbols such that the amplitudes have a non-uniform distribution. In some implementations of the non-uniform distribution, the probabilities associated with the respective amplitudes generally increase with decreasing amplitude. Some implementations enable the tracking of MPDU boundaries to facilitate successful decoding by a receiving device. Additionally or alternatively, some implementations enable the determination of a packet length after performing the amplitude shaping, which enables a transmitting device to determine the number of padding bits to add to the payload and to signal the packet length to a receiving device so that the receiving device may determine the duration of the packet.

Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices, and techniques to indicate operations by extremely high throughput (EHT) devices on an operating bandwidth, including devices in a basic service set (BSS) supporting the use of a 320 MHz channel. In some aspects, the supported functionality may include extensions to flexibility and support rules, structures, and signaling using legacy fields, frames, and features. In addition, the supported functionality may include channel sensing and reporting, such as per-channel network allocation vectors (NAVs) for the sub-channels of the operating bandwidth. A device may identify an operating mode for an operating bandwidth and determine a value for a bandwidth query report (BQR) or a target wake time (TWT) element. The device may check multiple NAVs for sub-channels of the operating bandwidth. The operating bandwidth may span concurrent operations on traditional Wi-Fi frequency bands including the 2.4 and 5 GHz bands as well as the 6 GHz band.
