The user interface includes a representation of the collection of entities as a whole, and a representation of members associated with the entity. If an action is performed on the representation of the entities as a whole, then the action is propagated to the collection of entities, if the action is performed on the representation of the member associated with the entity, then the action is directed to the member.

摘要: A virtual applications architecture is provided according to the present invention. The architecture includes a topology manager for managing applications across a plurality of members, and a virtual applications manager for defining a plurality of resources comprising the applications. The topology manager communicates with the plurality of members to initiate scaling of the applications associated with the virtual applications manager to the members. The architecture may also include a replication system for deploying the applications to the members.

摘要: A computer user interface may be used to create and maintain semantic relationships between data objects on a computer system. Multiple sets of data objects identified by user selections, queries, searches, or other criteria may be presented in display panes on the user interface. Users may then select data objects via the user interface in order to view or create new relationships between the data objects. Based on the selection of the data objects and a determination of the associated data object types, a set of semantic relationships applicable to the selected data object or objects may be retrieved and displayed in the user interface. A user may subsequently select and create an appropriate semantic relationship between data objects, thereby not only establishing an association between the objects, but providing a specific and useful meaning to the association.

摘要: Various embodiments of the present invention are directed to a storage platform comprising a database engine, a data store, an application programming interface. The data store is implemented on the database engine for storing data therein, and the data store implements a data model that supports the organization, searching, sharing, synchronization, and security of data stored in the data store. Specific types of data are described in schemas. The application programming interface enables application programs to access services and capabilities of the storage platform and to access the data described in the schemas. The storage platform supports interoperability with existing file systems, enables users and systems to synchronize data stored in different instances of the data store, and provides the ability for application programs to be notified about and to track changes made to the data in the data store.
