Abstract:
A user interface to display and manage a plurality of entities as if a single entity is provided. The user interface includes a representation of the collection of entities as a whole, and a representation of members associated with the entity. If an action is performed on the representation of the entities as a whole, then the action is propagated to the collection of entities, if the action is performed on the representation of the member associated with the entity, then the action is directed to the member.
Abstract:
Unleaded blend composition having a Motor Octane Number (MON) of at least 80 having less than 42% of aromatic compounds, and at least 2% by volume of the total composition of component (a′), which is a substantially aliphatic hydrocarbon refinery stream of MON value of at least 85. At least 70% in total of the stream is branched chain alkanes, the stream being obtained by distillation from a refinery material as a cut having Initial Boiling Point of at least 15° C. and Final Boiling Point of at most 160° C. The Boiling Points are measured according to ASTMID2892. At least 5% of at least one paraffin, aromatic hydrocarbon compound or olefinic hydrocarbon has a bp 60-160° C., with not more than 5% of the total composition of hydrocarbon having a bp more than 160° C. Less than 5% 2,2,3-trimethylbutane or 2,2,3-trimethylpentane is present.

Abstract:
A magnetic filter device and method for using same, for removing ferromagnetic particles from a liquid, which device comprises a vessel having an inlet for liquid to flow into the vessel and an outlet for the liquid to flow out of the vessel, and the vessel having one or more magnets suspended therein for removing ferromagnetic particles from liquid flowing between the inlet and outlet, characterised in that: the vessel is a horizontal pipe with the inlet at one end and the outlet at the other end, the magnets are suspended transverse to the longitudinal axis of the pipe in one or more sets, and the vessel has one or more helical flow generators which in use, generate helical flow of the liquid as it flows between the inlet and outlet, and/or one or more turbulent flow generators which in use, generate turbulent flow of the liquid as it flows between the inlet and outlet. The helical and/or turbulent flow of the liquid may mitigate the potential problems of liquid and/or particles by-passing the magnet or magnets, for example arising from laminar flow of the liquid and/or uneven distribution of particles in the liquid.

Abstract:
An apparatus for detecting spectra in light emanating from chemical or biochemical reactions occurring in at least one reaction vessel (3) of a plurality of reaction vessels is disclosed. Each reaction vessel (3) has a receptacle portion having an emitting area from which light can emanate. The apparatus may include a masking element (5) having an array of apertures (6) through which light from each reaction vessel (3) can escape. A plurality of light waveguides (7) are arranged to guide light from the apertures (6) in the masking element (5) to a light dispersing device (8) for dispersing the light from each waveguide (7) into a dispersed spectrum. A light detecting device (10) detects specific spectra in the dispersed spectra of light substantially simultaneously. In one embodiment, the apertures (6) are substantially smaller in size than the emitting area of the reaction vessel, but in another embodiment, the apertures (6) are substantially similar in size to the emitting area of the reaction vessel and the light waveguides (7) have a diameter that tapers from a first end substantially similar in diameter to the area of the top of the reaction vessel to a second end that is substantially smaller in diameter. In an alternative embodiment, the light waveguides are not used, when light from the small apertures is directed straight at the light dispersing device. In a further alternative embodiment, several light waveguides are provided for each reaction vessel, each waveguide directing light to a different detector for detecting a different specific spectrum.
