摘要: Method and system for providing ad-splicer N+1 redundancy in a network by employing TIP network intelligence & techniques to facilitate a redundant ad-splicer presuming, within few seconds, the functionality of the failed primary ad-splicer. The network triggers the installation of unlist and multi cast route on an interface by tracking one or more unlist routes to deliver the unlist and (pre-spliced) multi cast traffic to the redundant ad-splicer. The network dynamically adjusts the multi cast trees to continue to deliver the post-spliced multi cast traffic to the intended receivers.

摘要: Systems, methods, and other embodiments associated with any-to-any multicasting in a tunnel based virtual private network (VPN) are described. One example method includes calculating a resolved address for an unknown reverse path forwarding (RPF) neighbor in an any-to-any multicasting route. The resolved address is calculated using next hop resolution protocol (NHRP) resolution. The address is to be resolved based on control plane traffic. The NHRP address resolution is not to affect unicast routing. The example method may also include establishing the any-to-any multicasting route. Since the multicasting route is any-to-any (e.g., spoke-to-spoke), the multicasting route is not required to include a hub in the logical hub-and-spoke network.

摘要: A method in an example embodiment can include polling a first cable modem in a cable network and receiving a first response message from the first cable modem identifying a downstream frequency detected by the first cable modem. The method further includes determining the downstream frequency is split between at least two fiber nodes and determining a cable modem termination system (CMTS) service group topology, where the topology includes the at least two fiber nodes. In specific embodiments, determining that the downstream frequency is split is based on at least the first response message from the first cable modem and a second response message from a second cable modem. In more specific embodiments, the method includes constructing a hybrid fiber-coaxial (HFC) topology map of the cable network based on at least the first and second response messages, where the HFC topology map indicates the CMTS service group topology.

摘要: In one embodiment, a QoS manager process that receives, at an EzVPN server device, connection speed data from an EzVPN client device. In addition, the QoS manager process processes, at the EzVPN server device, the connection speed data to determine a QoS policy for a communications session between the EzVPN client device and the EzVPN server device. Furthermore, the QoS manager process applies, at the EzVPN server device, the QoS policy to the communications session between the EzVPN client device and the EzVPN server device as determined by the processing of the connection speed data.

摘要: In one example, a resource reservation protocol is modified to allow a Modular Cable Modem Termination System (M-CMTS) core to use the protocol to reserve, for a flow, network resources as well as a Radio Frequency (RF) channel extending from the remote PHYsical interface (PHY). The modifications allow the M-CMTS core to identify parameters to be used by the edge device for selecting an available RF channel to be reserved for the flow, or to request a particular one of the RF channels. Intermediary devices operating on the DEPI can also reserve resources for the flow without being reconfigured according to the protocol modifications.

摘要: In an embodiment, a method is provided at which it is used in a device. In this method, a logical identifier assigned to the device is identified and additionally, a mesh group identifier identifying a mesh group is identified. The logical identifier and the mesh group identifier are encoded in a routing message, which is used in an inter-domain routing protocol, and this routing message is transmitted to a reflector device in communication with the device. The reflector device is configured to transmit the routing message to a remote device included in the computer network.
