    摘要: A self-pointing antenna has a reflector, a feed or a sub-reflector and a plurality of support struts coupled between the reflector and the boom arm and supporting the feed or sub-reflector. At least one actuator is operatively coupled with the support struts for adjusting the position of the feed or sub-reflector relative to the reflector so as to selectively adjust either/or both of the beam elevation and azimuth of a main beam axis of the antenna.

    摘要: An image spatial filter comprises back-to-back image cavities with means for coupling energy from one cavity to the other. Large angle of incidence energy is attenuated by each image cavity successively, thus providing a high degree of attenuation. Two quarter wavelength dielectric sheets with a ground plane between them and spaced from each by one-half wavelength form the image cavities. Slots in the ground plane provide coupling from one cavity to the other. Image spatial filters are not substantially more expensive than multi-layer dielectric spatial filters and are as easily fitted to existing antennas. But image spatial filters substantially reduce large angle passbands caused by the Brewster effect and by cavity resonance in dielectric spatial filters.

    摘要: An image element antenna array comprised of slot radiating elements is used for the antenna system for a monopulse tracking system. The image element antenna includes the radiating source disposed between two parallel reflecting planes, one of which is a total reflector and the other a partially reflecting and partially transmitting reflector. The employment of a partially reflecting plane allows for minimizing the number of radiating elements comprising a given antenna array while providing substantially the same gain and pattern activity. The antenna system may be mounted in a missile or the like for transmitting and receiving monopulse energy for steering the missile. The reduced number of radiating elements required reduces the feed network complexity and number with an attended increase in aperture efficiency.
