摘要: A method for manufacturing a machine component is provided. The method includes forming a machine component substrate wherein the substrate has a substrate surface region. The method further includes forming at least one primary thermal barrier layer including a first ceramic thermal barrier material having a first porosity. The method also includes forming at least one secondary thermal barrier layer formed over at least a portion of the plurality of primary thermal barrier layers. Also, the secondary thermal barrier layer further includes a second ceramic thermal barrier material having a second porosity that is greater than the first porosity. The method also includes forming at least one tertiary thermal barrier layer comprising a smooth coat material, wherein the tertiary thermal barrier layer is formed over at least a portion of the secondary thermal barrier layer. The secondary thermal barrier layer facilitates reducing a delamination of the tertiary thermal barrier layer.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a method comprising inclining a spray gun of a high velocity oxygen fuel device at an angle of 15 degrees to a perpendicular to a substrate; incrementally displacing the spray gun to an angle of 35 degrees to the perpendicular to the substrate; spraying a surface of the substrate with the spray gun during the displacing of the spray gun; and covering the substrate with a coating that has a smooth transition zone from a coated region of the substrate to a non-coated region of the substrate; wherein the coating provides erosion protection greater than or equal to that of a coating produced when the spray gun spray angle to the substrate is not varied during the spraying.

The method includes coupling a drive assembly to a positioning assembly, coupling a plurality of components to be manufactured to a plurality of fixtures, securing the plurality of fixtures to the drive assembly wherein each fixture is configured to receive a component to be manufactured, and repositioning the plurality of components simultaneously using the positioning assembly to facilitate manufacturing of the plurality of components, wherein the components are configured to be oscillated in a first plane of rotation via the drive assembly and rotated through a second plane of rotation via the plurality of fixtures.

摘要: In one embodiment, a method for applying a barrier coating comprises: mixing a coating material and a structural enhancer to form a mixture, applying the mixture to a component using thermal spraying to form the coating, and controlling a concentration of the structural enhancer in the coating. The structural enhancer is selected from the group consisting of oxide, carbide, nitride, intermetallic material, and combinations comprising at least one of the foregoing.
