摘要: The present invention relates to a method of making a breathable nonwoven fabric having enhanced moisture barrier properties. In particular, the invention pertains to a method of making a meltblown fibrous layer having an improved hydrohead performance (e.g. greater than 40 millibars (16 inches of H2O) and adjacent to at least one spunbond fibrous layer, wherein the method comprises secondary processing of the meltblown layer prior to bonding to spunbond layers. The resultant spunbond/meltblown (SM) nowoven fabric is breathable and characterized as having a cloth-like feel and softness and enhanced hydrohead performance rendering it suitable for use in, for example, personal hygiene, disposable industrial garment and infection control/clean room applications for items such as coverings, incontinence pads and diapers, especially as a diaper backsheet or containment flap.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method of obtaining value from providing fabrication equipment comprising the following steps. Fabrication equipment is provided to an article producer, which equipment includes an on-line analyzer for detecting the presence of a tracer element. Raw material which contains the proprietary tracer element is then provided to the article producer. The article producer is then allowed to begin to convert the raw material to a finished article using the fabrication equipment. The raw material is analyzed for the presence of the tracer element while the fabrication equipment is operated. Appropriate action, such as charging a royalty or shutting down the fabrication equipment, is then taken in the event the tracer element is not detected.

摘要: The present invention relates to nonwoven webs or fabrics. In particular, the present invention relates to nonwoven webs having superior abrasion resistance and excellent softness characteristics. The nonwoven materials comprise fibers made from of a polymer blend of isotactic polypropylene and reactor grade propylene based elastomers or plastomers together with from about 100 to about 2500 ppm (by weight of the fiber) of a slip agent. The isotactic polypropylene can be homopolymer polypropylene, and/or random copolymers of propylene and one or more alpha-olefins. The reactor grade propylene based elastomers or plastomers have a molecular weight distribution of less than about 3.5, and a heat of fusion less than about 90 joules/gm. In particular, the reactor grade propylene based elastomers or plastomers contains from about 3 to about 15 percent by weight of units derived from an ethylene and a melt flow rate of from about 2 to about 200 grams/10 minutes. Erucamide is the preferred slip additive.
