摘要: The present invention is directed toward a film comprising a vinylidene chloride interpolymer, wherein the vinylidene chloride interpolymer having polymerized herein vinylidene chloride in an amount of from about 75 to about 95 percent by weight of interpolymer and from about 25 to about 5 percent by weight of interpolymer of at least one monomer copolymerized therewith, is prepared by extruding said interpolymer through an extrusion die to form an extrudate; passing the extrudate through a cooling means; blowing a blown tubular bubble by expanding the cooled extrudate sheet around a trapped gaseous medium, said bubble having an effective blow-up ratio before deflation such that the bubble after deflation has a desired final blow-up ratio; and conveying the tubular bubble through a deflator means to collapse the bubble into a two-layer film, wherein the film has a final blow-up ratio of between about 2.5 to about 3.5 said film having an amorphous phase and a crystalline phase with vinylidene chloride crystalline units, said crystalline units and amorphous units being positioned such that the film has a machine direction Elmendorf tear strength of at least 1.5 times the transverse direction percent elongation of at least 1.5 times machine direction percent elongation. The film and the process of making the film of the present invention is thought to improve handling of consumer films.

摘要: The yarns of the present invention satisfy the need for a multi-purpose yarn, capable of improved abrasion resistance, seam slippage and dimensional stability while eliminating traditional fabric's backing materials and costs associated with the production thereof. In one aspect, the method of producing yarn and fabrics comprises supplying a first yarn, supplying a low melt yarn, placing the two yarns adjacent to one another, and winding the two adjacent yarns. In another aspect, the method of producing yarns and fabrics further comprises weaving the yarns into a fabric and heating the fabric, wherein heating the fabric heats the low melt yarn, melting at least one filament and adhering the low melt yarn to the first yarn or fabric. In yet another aspect, the method of producing yarns and fabrics further comprises weaving the yarns into a fabric, breaking at least one filament of the low melt yarn, and heating the low melt yarn, wherein heating the low melt yarn melts at least one broken filament thereby adhering the low melt yarn to the first yarn or fabric.

摘要: A business method for constructing a building that includes providing a catalog of building components from suppliers in an established network of suppliers. Construction specifications for a building are inputted into a computer containing the database and components are selected from the building component database that correspond with the construction specifications. A database of compatiblized components that correspond with the construction specifications is produced and used to provide technical drawings of the components and construction drawings for the building. The individual component specifications and drawings are communicated to the building component suppliers who produce or obtain individual components conforming to the individual component specifications. A sequence for assembling the individual components to construct the building is determined and the components are transported to a construction site according to the sequence, where the building is then constructed.
