Such management allows for the migration of subscriber units (170) from one service area (140) to another (190) without the disruption of service. In addition, initialization of subscriber units (130) may be accomplished over the cable and does not require an operator at the subscriber location.

    摘要: A system for producing an output signal representing movement of an object's surface has a continuous wave (CW) signal source for producing an CW signal directed at the object's surface. The CW signal is produced at a first frequency. A receiving element receives a signal reflected from the object's surface when the CW signal hits this surface. A down-converting frequency mixer converts the received signal into a signal of a second frequency lower than the first frequency. The frequency mixer is configured to produce an output signal representing an amplitude-modulated (AM) component of the received signal and having a parameter representing movement of the object's surface.

    摘要: This transmission system comprises a station of a first type and a plurality of stations of a second type which include a transmitting part having a transmit timing controller for transmitting data at a transmit timing and a receiving part having synchronizing circuits for synchronization with data transmitted from the station of the first type. When the stations of the second type are moving, their transmit timing is modified to facilitate the synchronization of the reception of the station by solely being based on the receive timing at these stations of the second type.

    摘要: An RF integrated circuit includes an improved control circuit for switching between at least two modes of operation, depending upon a characteristic of a signal received by the integrated circuit, the RF integrated circuit including a first input for receiving a first RF signal, when the integrated circuit is in a first mode; a second input for receiving a second input signal when the integrated circuit is in a second mode; and a detector on the integrated circuit couples to the first and second inputs for detecting the presence of the first and second RF signals, and producing an output signal at a logic port of the detector, depending on the state of the first and second RF signals; and a controller on the integrated circuit connected to the detector for switching the integrated circuit between the first mode and the second mode in response to the output signal without the need for the application of an external control signal to the integrated circuit.
