摘要: A method for estimating a spin of a projectile, the method comprising obtaining a first data series representing a radial velocity of a projectile over time in accordance with a radar signal reflected from the projectile, subtracting a center velocity of the first data series from the first data series to form a second data series representing a variation of the radial velocity of the projectile around the center velocity over time, dividing the second data series into respective time intervals, estimating, for each of the time intervals of the second data series, a frequency of the variation of the radial velocity of the projectile around the center velocity, and determining a spin of the projectile based on the estimated frequencies of the variation of the radial velocity of the projectile.

摘要: The techniques described herein relate to a method of detecting an object in an environment using a system including a server and a set of transceivers. A first set of signals is transmitted and received by the set of transceivers, and processed to determine a background for an environment. A second set of signals is transmitted from the set of transceivers, all or a portion of the second set of transmitted signals are reflected off of an object of interest (OOI), and the reflected signals are received by the set of transceivers and processed to determine a first estimated location of the OOI by detecting a change between the first set of received signals and the first set of reflected signals. If the first estimated location is determined to be a reported location of the OOI then it is reported as a reported location to a system.

摘要: A system determining a spin axis of a ball includes a radar transmitting a signal into a target area. The radar includes a minimum of three receivers arranged so that two pairs of receivers are not co-linear. The system also includes a Processing Unit (“PU”) receiving data from the radar and determining a radar range of frequencies received at a point in time corresponding to differing velocities relative to the radar of different portions of the ball as the ball is spinning. PU divides the radar frequency range into a plurality of frequency components and calculating, for each of the frequency components, an angular position associated therewith. PU identifies as a projection of the spin axis in a plane perpendicular to a line of sight from the radar to the ball, a line perpendicular to a line represented by the determined angular positions.

Each measurement data set includes a measurement time, a Doppler velocity, and an azimuth angle in relation to a respective sensor reference system. The method includes determining a movement state of the body relative to the environment as a velocity vector and an angular velocity vector in a body reference system. At least one set of conditions that includes a plurality of measurement data sets is created. A function dependent on Doppler velocity deviations between estimated Doppler velocities and the Doppler velocities of the measurement data sets included in the set of conditions is minimized in a regression analysis for the set of conditions. The estimated Doppler velocities are regarded as dependent variables in the regression analysis.

The sensor unit may be a camera that detects the presence of an individual and register their unique heart rhythm for identification purposes. This camera can be installed at the entry points of a home, behind the counter of a business near a cash register or at a bank or any other place that desires to use surveillance as a form of security. The sensor unit may be a light bulb that comprises the components of the sensor unit. The sensor unit may be a contactless vital sign monitor capable of remotely monitoring one or more vital signs.

In some instances, doing so enables radar sensors to be constructed using multiple Antenna On Package (AOP) devices that lack support for cascading or that otherwise would have limited angular resolution on their own to adequately discriminate between various objects in the environment of an autonomous or other vehicle to be used collectively by a vehicle control system in connection with the autonomous control of a vehicle.
