摘要： A shutter assembly mounts to a building and includes a right stile and a left stile disposed in spaced opposing relationship with one another. A first bar is mounted to the right stile and presents at least one recess facing outwardly away from the right stile for receiving a decorative member. A second bar opposing the first bar is mounted to the left stile and presents at least one recess facing and opposing the recess of the first bar for receiving the decorative member. The first and second bars each have at least one biasing device extending into the respective recesses of the first and second bars and engage the decorative member for biasing the decorative member outwardly away from the respective stiles to prevent movement of the decorative member relative to the stiles.

摘要： A shutter assembly mounts adjacent an opening of a building. The shutter assembly includes a right stile and a left stile disposed in a spaced and parallel opposing relationship with one another and each having a U-shaped cross section presenting a base and side walls. The side walls extend from the base to spaced distal edges to define a channel open at each end of the respective stiles. A top rail and a bottom rail extend in a spaced and parallel opposing relationship between the bases of the stiles. The top rail is disposed in one of the open ends of each of the stiles and the bottom rail is disposed in the other open ends of each of the stiles. Each of the rails define a glue manifold for distributing an adhesive onto the rails and into the channels for securing the rails to the stiles.

In one embodiment, first and second pilaster bases receive first and second cover plates in recesses, wherein the recesses have a lip along at least two sides and the cover plates are mounted flush with the pilaster bases and covering the lips. Further, a mantle base having a central portion comprising regularly repeating reinforced sectional structural receives a mantle cover thereover such that the mantle base in generally obscured from view. The pilaster and mantle bases each include decorative ends integrally formed thereon.

摘要： A roof vent comprising a one-piece plastic body including a base wall with air guiding vanes to ventilate the interior of a building. A plurality of spaced intermediate transverse supports are provided along the central longitudinal axis of the plastic body. The intermediate supports are adapted to facilitate folding at the center of the vent to maintain a straight line bend and to provide support for the central portion of the vent to improve stiffness and appearance. The supports overlap to accommodate different roof angles. Additionally, the roof vent has a tongue and groove arrangement on the end walls at each end for an interlocking connection to an adjacent roof vent. One embodiment of the roof vent is adapted for use on a hip roof. In this embodiment, a separate wall is used to deflect entry of snow or rain. The supports have notches to accommodate the separate wall. Furthermore, drain openings are provided in the vanes and the end walls to allow moisture to escape and cross-walls are also provided to prevent moisture from flowing along the inside surface of the roof vent.

摘要： A surround molding assembly for a doorway or window of a structure such as a residential home or a commercial building. In one embodiment, a decorative molding strip includes a base strip and a decorative strip interconnected by a living hinge. The decorative strip may be pivoted about the living hinge to a closed position over the base strip to hide internally located fasteners. In an embodiment, an extension cap is interconnected between a corner member and a decorative molding strip without external fasteners. In another preferred embodiment, a door surround molding assembly is provided which includes a pair of vertical molding members releasably secured via independent hanger strips along vertical sides of a doorway. The hanger strips include securing portions which releasably interengage with securing portions of the vertical molding members to eliminate the need for nails, threaded screws or like fastening elements to be driven through the vertical molding members to accomplish securing each to a wall portion of a structure. A mantle molding member is provided and fixedly secured over a top portion of the doorway without the need for external fastening elements. An installation support member is arranged within the molding member to support the outer surface of the molding member. An internal corner member is positioned adjacent each end of the mantle molding member and each directs water running onto the mantle molding member away from the doorway. In an alternative embodiment of the present invention a window header assembly is disclosed which incorporates a hanger member having a pair of flexible arm portions. The flexible arm portions are adapted to permit the hanger member to be secured to siding on the exterior surface of a structure such that the hanger member is positioned generally parallel to the siding, and further such that at least two points of contact are provided between the siding and the back surface of the hanger member. In another alternative embodiment a window header assembly is disclosed which is particularly adapted to be secured to a window header of a structure prior to installation of siding on the structure or over brick already installed on the exterior surface of the structure. In yet another alternative embodiment a header assembly is disclosed which is adapted to be secured to an uneven exterior surface of a structure such as aluminum or vinyl siding. A corner molding assembly is adapted for use with pilasters in a window or door surround of a structure having siding. The assembly has a base that is fastened to the structure. A corner block is positioned over the pilasters and siding and is fastened to the base through and access area in a front face portion. A decorative cover plate is secure to the front face portion to conceal the access area. In another aspect of the invention, a decorative trim strips has first and second interlocking ends that may be interlocked with the ends of other trim strips to make a continuous trim strip and eliminate gaps caused by expansion found to occur in conventional mitered joints. Another trim assembly, including a base having a decorative portion and a ring are used to conceal a base flange. The trim assembly may be used in conjunction with a mantle assembly to provide a decorative molding that directs water away from a door or window.
