摘要： Various aspects of apparatuses and methods for enabling a subscriber premise network interface device (NID) to facilitate communication services including digitally derived voice services to be facilitated between a central office and a subscriber premise are disclosed herein. In accordance with one embodiment of the disclosures herein, such a method includes facilitating a downstream DSL voice channel transmission process at a subscriber premise Network Interface Device (NID) and facilitating an upstream DSL voice channel transmission process at the subscriber premise NID. The downstream DSL voice channel transmission process facilitates converting a voice component of a downstream DSL data stream to a corresponding downstream analog voice signal. The upstream DSL voice channel transmission process facilitates converting an upstream analog voice signal to an upstream voice component of an upstream DSL data stream.

摘要： A shelf or housing is connected to a narrowband network and to a broadband network for serving a plurality of subscribers includes two sections, one for lowpass filters and another for line and network termination cards. The line termination and network termination equipment are interconnected by a bus internal to the shelf for providing subscriber access. The shelf or housing can be used as a hub for connecting to a remote shelf or housing that includes the line termination equipment for connection to subscribers. Although the internal bus of the shelf or housing is shown in a non-redundant embodiment, an increased level of equipment protection can be provided by placing one half of a redundant equipment pair in one shelf or housing and the other half in the other shelf or housing and sharing network termination equipment between such shelves or housings.

摘要： An xDSL (x-Digital Subscriber Line) signal is multiplexed with POTS on a twisted pair between a subscriber modem and line termination equipment in a shelf that also includes network termination equipment for connection to a broadband network. The line termination and network termination equipment are interconnected by a bus internal to the shelf for providing subscriber access. Separate lowpass filters are provided at each end of a twisted wire pair between the shelf and each subscriber equipment. A shelf can be used as a hub for connecting to a remote shelf that includes the line termination equipment for connection to subscribers.

The rack or shelf in the rack can be used as a hub for connecting to a remote shelf or housing that includes the line termination equipment for connection to subscribers.

摘要： An architecture, as well as various components, of an asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) subscriber access multiplexer (ASAM) system can be implemented using an XDSL (x-Digital Subscriber Line) using DMT (Discrete Multitone) or CAP (Carrierless Amplitude Phase Modulation) between a plurality of subscribers and a corresponding plurality of line termination equipment in a shelf that also includes network termination equipment for connection to an ATM network. The line termination and network termination equipment are interconnected by a bus internal to the shelf for providing subscriber access. Separate lowpass filters are provided at each end of a twisted wire pair between the shelf and each subscriber equipment. A shelf can be used as a hub for connecting to a remote shelf that includes the line termination equipment for connection to subscribers. 摘要： An ADSL POTS splitter includes an enhanced low pass filter. The enhanced low pass filter includes a first filter capacitor, a first non-isolated inductor, a second non-isolated inductor, a first isolated inductor and a common mode choke. The second non-isolated inductor is connected to the first non-isolated inductor. A first winding of the second non-isolated inductor is connected in series with a first winding of the first non-isolated inductor. A second winding of the second non-isolated inductor connected in series with a second winding of the first non-isolated inductor. The first isolated inductor is connected to the first non-isolated inductor with a first winding of the first isolated inductor connected in series with the first winding of the first non-isolated inductor and to a first lead of the first filter capacitor. A second winding of the first isolated inductor connected in series with the second winding of the first non-isolated inductor and to a second lead of the first filter capacitor. The first non-isolated inductor has a respective DC saturation current and the isolated inductor has a respective DC saturation current. The DC saturation current of the first non-isolated inductor is substantially greater than the DC saturation current of the isolated inductor for achieving higher inductance in the isolated inductor. The common mode choke is connected between the first non-isolated inductor and the first filter capacitor. A first winding of the common mode choke connected in series with the first winding of the first non-isolated inductor and with the first winding of the first isolated inductor. A second winding of the common mode choke is connected in series with the second winding of the first non-isolated inductor and with the second winding of the first isolated inductor.

摘要： An ADSL POTS splitter includes low pass filter. The low pass filter includes a first inductor portion in communication with the line interface and a second inductor portion isolated from the line interface via an isolation capacitor. In one embodiment, the first inductor portion is characterized for non-saturation in conventional operating ranges. The first non-isolated inductor portion has a respective DC saturation current and the isolated inductor portion has a respective DC saturation current. The DC saturation current of the first non-isolated inductor portion is substantially greater than the DC saturation current of the isolated inductor portion for achieving higher inductance in the isolated inductor portion.
