    摘要: A viscous liquid dispenser is characterized by a yieldable lever arm pivotally connected within a casing. The lever arm carries a rigid dispensing block thereon. In response to the imposition of an actuating force to the lever arm, the arm pivots to bring the tip of the dispensing block into contact with a resilient flexible tube extending from a viscous liquid reservoir. The resilient tube is constricted between the tip of the dispensing block and a predetermined impact point located on a movable back-up block provided adjacent to the resilient tube and opposite from the dispensing block. The lever arm yieldably responds to the continued application of an actuating force to compress a portion of the resilient tube immediately below the constriction between the dispensing block and a predetermined dispensing surface disposed on the back-up block. The compressive force thereby imparted to the entrapped viscous liquid unseats a spring-biased long-throw ball check valve and to expel a predetermined quantity of viscous liquid from the resilient tube. Upon cessation of the actuating force, the yieldable lever arm and the resilient tube return to their unstressed states, and the ball check valve returns to its seat, the suction created thereby draws any remaining viscous liquid back into the lower portion of the resilient tube. The magnitude of the volume of viscous liquid dispensed by each actuation of the yieldable lever arm is able to be regulated by moving the back-up block with respect to the dispensing block.

    摘要: A portable chemical spraying apparatus has an electric motor/compressor mounted inside of two halves of a lightweight housing. A compressed air output of the motor/compressor connects directly to a compression chamber. Compressed air inside of the compression chamber moves through the venturi of a nozzle into a mixing chamber. The mixing chamber opens to atmosphere through a vortex of compressed air received via spiral passages connecting to the compression chamber. Chemicals may be drawn into the mixing chamber through a needle, which may perforate a seal of a disposable chemical container at the time the chemical container is connected to the portable spraying apparatus. Simultaneously, the needle seals with a metered conduit which extends to the inside bottom of the chemical container.

    摘要: A symmetrical cell door and operating system comprises a vertically shiftable locking bar mounted in a center column of a cell opening. A cell door is movable in either direction relative to the central column and has upwardly facing locking notches in a lower horizontal frame element to receive the lower end of the locking bar to lock the cell door when moved either to the extreme right or to the extreme left of the center column. An elongated rack is secured to the top of the cell door by a lost motion connection and defines a cam slot engagable with a horizontally projecting actuator on the locking rod to cam the locking bar into and out of the respective locking notch. The rack is reciprocated by a pinion driven by a DC motor. Two separate banks of batteries selectively supply power to the DC motor and one bank is always being charged, thus eliminating the need for a mechanical backup system for concurrently opening or closing all cell doors in the event of a failure of the AC power supply to the building.

    摘要: Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a printed circuit card edge connector having a pull through bellows contact and a lay-over insulator. Manufacturing steps include inserting contacts interconnected by a common support strip into the top openings of sleeves and positioning the projections of those contacts within alignment troughs such that the contact tails extend out of the bottom of the openings in alignment. The common support strip is removed and the tails of the contacts are inserted through apertures arranged in linear arrays through the substrate. Force is applied to the tails rigidly press-fit mounting the contacts to the substrate. Further disclosed are the forming of first and second extending ears as integral portions of the upper contactor and intermediate mounting regions of the contact, respectively, and the forming of alignment tracks configured to receive the first and second ears. Also disclosed are methods of manufacture including the use of inner and outer alignment tracks wherein the first ears are inserted into the outer alignment track and, where the outer alignment track extends through the sleeve from the top to the bottom of the insulative block, applying force to the tails of the contacts and passing the first ears along the outer alignment track. Further disclosure includes receiving the ears in interference engagement within the alignment track and sliding sub-projections in interference engagement with the troughs, retaining the contacts within the insulative block in alignment and slideably positioning the upper contactor region relative to the sleeves and slideably receiving the ears of said contacts in said troughs.
