摘要： An override control apparatus and method for parameter adjustment of digitally based welding process programmers is provided for making modifications to a pre-programmed weld parameter schedule during real time welding. Initial values for welding head current are initially provided to a programmer, and during the real time welding interval, means are provided for overriding and updating the data. The programmer repetitively and frequently makes calculations so that the output value of current supplied to the welding head is provided frequently. In addition to the current output signal, a speed output signal is provided to control the speed of the welding head relative to the workpiece. The current output and speed output signals are generated with the same time base in synchronism.

摘要： Process for the production of synthesis gas and hydrocarbons in which a saturated hydrocarbon and an oxygen containing gas having a ratio of hydrocarbon to oxygen of greater than the stoichiometric ratio for complete combustion are introduced together with hydrogen into a bed of particulate material. The upward flow rate of the gases is sufficiently large to fluidize or to cause a spouting action of the bed material. The hydrocarbon, oxygen containing gas and hydrogen are ignited and reacted together and the products of the reaction are withdrawn.

摘要： Apparatus for counting a number of sheet-like articles such as corrugated sheets of paper is disclosed as comprising a platen mounted to be driven rectilinearly from a topmost position to engage the top of the stack, a motor for reversibly driving the platen and a counter for counting the number of pulses required to drive the platen from its topmost position to the top of the stack, thus providing an indication by the number of counted pulses of the distance between the topmost platen position and the top of the stack. Further, a circuit is provided for determining the difference between the first measured distance and the total distance between the bottom of the stack to thereby provide an indication of the stack height, which stack height in a particular unit of measurement, e.g., inches, is multiplied by a factor corresponding to the number of sheets per unit measurement to provide the number of sheets in the stack.

摘要： A device for degaussing magnetic transducers used with magnetic stripe cards includes a degaussing unit that drives a magnetic transducer with an electrical pulse, or a gradually increasing drive frequency, to eliminate the residual magnetism of the transducer. Logic circuitry controls the device to degauss with little or no additional equipment and avoids damage to the recordings, as on low-coercivity magnetic stripe cards.

The lamp includes flood and spotlight filaments, the spotlight filament switch including resistor means connected in series with the electric drive motors to automatically reduce the rate of lamp adjustment when the spotlight filament is utilized.
