A jar containing a known water-alcohol solution is mounted on the bottom of the arm. The case and jar support the simulator. A magnetic power drive located in the case to one side of the jar rotates a magnetic stirrer in the jar. Breath blown into the jar forms an effluent having a known concentration of alcohol and is flowed to a breath test analyzer to be tested.

    摘要: Electrical supply current, sufficient to power a wireless access point, is transmitted concurrently with a network data signal across a transmission line. A power and data coupler couples the network data signal and the power signal, received through a data input and a power input respectively, and transmits the coupled signal, to a distance of three meters or more, over the transmission line to a power and data decoupler. The power and data decoupler separates the power signal from the network data signal and supplies those signals to a power output port and a data output port, respectively, for use by a wireless access node. The power signal may be modulated at a low frequency relative to the frequency of the data signal, and the network data signal has a data transmission rate of one megabit/second or higher.

    摘要: A micro-power, micro-size RF detector is suitable for implementation on an integrated circuit. The detector is used for detecting the presence of high frequency AC signals on a transmission line which has a transmission line impedance. An input for connection to the transmission line through a high impedance relative to the transmission line is provided. A current mode detector is coupled to the input. The current mode detector translates AC signals on the input to a bias signal having a DC component determined by power of the AC signal on the transmission line. A current mode amplifier is coupled to the current mode detector, and amplifies the bias signal to produce a detector current. A binary output driver is coupled to the current mode amplifier, which generates a binary signal having one binary level if the detector current exceeds a high signal threshold, and another binary level if the detector current falls below a low signal threshold.

    摘要: A method for marshalling an additional outstation (3) of a time division multiple access (TDMA) telecommunication system including a basestation (4) and a plurality of outstations (1,2), such as a passive optical network (PON). A sequence is transmitted from the additional outstation (3) to the basestation (4) at a level below the noise sensitivity of a receiver (49) of the basestation (4), detected at the base station and its phase determined by a correlation process. From the phase the loop delay to the additional outstation is determined and the outstation instructed to realign its transmission accordingly. The sequence is a short length sequence and the correlation can be performed by a binary division search method or a lowest common multiple method (FIG. 1).

    摘要: A centrifugal blower housing that includes sound attenuating features to decrease the noise generated by the pressure fluctuations due to blade pass. The blower housing includes at least one sound attenuating cavity positioned along the exhaust section integrally formed as part of the blower housing. The sound cavity creates a sound dampening zone near the outlet of the blower housing to attenuate the sound generated by the rotating impeller. The blower housing further includes an angled cut off portion positioned near the intersection of the exhaust section and the scroll section of the blower housing. The angled cut off portion creates an uneven surface that disrupts the pressure fluctuation created as the impeller blades pass over the cut off edge surface. The angled cut off portion extends into the interior of the exhaust section and defines an irregular surface along at least a portion of the exhaust section.
