摘要: A signal generating device for generation of measurement signals for an electrical system includes a housing which features an electrically conducting material, an energy reservoir arranged in the housing, a data interface arranged at the housing and designed to receive signal data, a coupling interface arranged at the housing and coupled to the electrical system, and a signal generator arranged in the housing. The signal generator is coupled to the electrical energy reservoir, to the data interface and to the coupling interface. The signal generator is designed, based on the signal data, to generate the measurement signals and to output them via the coupling interface. A corresponding measuring device is also included.

摘要: Apparatuses and methods for rapid heating a load having magnetic material(s). In some embodiments, the apparatus includes a source of radio frequency (RF) signals and a power management assembly that receives the RF signals and that increases or decreases power of the RF signals. The apparatus additionally includes directional coupler(s) that measure power of the RF signals received from the power management assembly and power of the RF signals reflected from the load to the at least one directional coupler. The apparatus further includes a control assembly operable to receive the measured powers, determine a temperature of the load based on the measured powers, and send one or more control signals to the power management assembly instructing the power management assembly to increase or decrease power of the RF signals received from the source of RF signals to maintain the determined temperature of the load at a predetermined temperature.

摘要: Disclosed is a channel-selective RF power sensor having a coupler and a channel-selective power measurement circuit. The said coupler is configured to obtain a sample of energy travelling on a main transmission line and provide the sample of energy to the channel-selective power measurement circuit. The sample of energy has a channel of interest. The channel-selective power measurement circuit is configured to measure RF energy information for the channel of interest in the sample of energy. Also disclosed is a method of measuring RF energy information for a channel of interest. The method includes providing a channel-selective RF power sensor and a main transmission line and obtaining a sample of energy from the main transmission line using a coupler of the channel-selective RF power sensor.

摘要: An apparatus and method for lost power detection are described. In one implementation, an apparatus for wirelessly transferring power comprises a wireless power transmitter configured to wirelessly transmit power at a first power level sufficient to power or charge a chargeable device. The apparatus further comprises a controller configured to obtain a first power measurement of the first power level. The controller is further configured to determine a first adjusted power measurement of the first power measurement based on one or more tolerance values of the wireless power transmitter. The controller is further configured to determine a second adjusted power measurement of a second power measurement of a second power level received by the chargeable device based on one or more tolerance values of the chargeable device. The controller is further configured to determine if a power difference between the first and second adjusted power measurements exceeds a threshold value.

摘要: Systems, methods and apparatus are disclosed for detecting power losses due to induction heating in wireless power receivers. In one aspect, an apparatus for wireless power transfer comprises a power transfer component configured to transmit wireless power to a wireless power receiver at a power level sufficient to charge or power a load. The apparatus further comprises a communications receiver configured to receive a message from the wireless power receiver, the message comprising a group identifier. The apparatus further comprises a controller circuit operationally coupled to the power transfer component and the communications receiver and configured to determine a power loss value based on the group identifier, the power loss value indicative of power loss due to induction heating presented by one or more wireless power receivers that are members of a group associated with the group identifier.

摘要: An unknown RF power is converted to a voltage by a detector (11). The voltage is converted to a number by a digitiser (12). A separate and fixed RF power reference (14) drives a second detector (15), whose voltage output is also converted to a number by the digitiser (12). The RF detectors are thermally coupled. Temperature variations in the RF power to voltage characteristic of the detector (11) are corrected by measuring the RF power reference (14) via the detector (15).

摘要: In one embodiment, a radio frequency (RF) power meter operates according to a variable loop bandwidth according to the nature of the RF signal to be measured. The RF power meter comprises: a first switch that switchably provides one of a first signal and a second signal, wherein the first signal is the RF signal to be measured; a first signal path for detecting an output signal from the first switch and for providing a first comparison signal according to a first bandwidth, a second signal path for detecting an output from the first switch and for providing a second comparison signal according to a second bandwidth, and a second switch that switchably provides one of the first comparison signal and the second comparison signal to the first switch to complete a closed-loop for the RF power meter.

摘要: In apparatus for measuring the output power an RF transmitter stage (34) connected to an antenna (44) via a quarter wavelength stripline (38), a manual probe (20) is applied connect the output of the transmitter stage to a power meter (24) and connect the output end of the stripline (38) to ground. Thus, RF signals which were passed to the antenna (44) are switched to the power meter (24). All the circuitry including the antenna (44) is mounted on a printed circuit board (60) disposed within a housing (14) which has an aperture (18) to enable the probe (20) to be inserted. By providing a suitable meter, parameters other than RF power can be measured.
