摘要： The present invention relates to the crystalline base of the well known antidepressant drug escitalopram, S-1-[3-(dimethylamino)propyl]-1-(4-fluorophenyl)-1,3-dihydro-5-isobenzofurancarbonitrile, formulations of said base, a process for the preparation of purified salts of escitalopram, such as the oxalate, using the base, the salts obtained by said process and formulations containing such salts, and a process for the preparation of purified escitalopram free base or salts of escitalopram, such as the oxalate, using the hydrobromide, the salts obtained by said process and formulations containing such salts. Finally the present invention relates to an orodispersible tablet having a hardness of at least 22 N and an oral-disintegration time of less than 120 s and comprising an active pharmaceutical ingredient adsorbed onto a water soluble filler wherein the active pharmaceutical ingredient has a melting point in the range of 40-100° C., as well as a method for making such an orodispersible tablet.

摘要： A multi-purpose embedded antenna apparatus for facilitating the communication of RF data signals is disclosed. Exemplary embodiments of the subject technology are utilized in a wireless utility metering environment and corresponding nodal network of communications devices. Preferred embedded antenna embodiments incorporate an RF antenna into a structural member, such as a faceplate, of a utility meter. Additional functionality may also be offered through device labeling incorporated with such an antenna apparatus. Exemplary embedded antenna apparatuses in accordance with the present subject matter may comprise a body of dielectric material, a radio frequency (RF) antenna applied to the body of dielectric material in a predefined size and pattern, and a connective element to interface the antenna to a communications module within a utility meter or other electronic device. An antenna apparatus may offer additional structural stability for meter housings. The location and design of the disclosed antenna modules preferably offer improved performance characteristics, including high antenna gain and uniform energy distribution.

摘要： An adjustable spacer instrument, kit of parts and surgical methods of use in a knee arthroplasty procedure are described. The adjustable spacer comprises a first member having a substantially planar upper surface and a second member having a substantially planar lower surface. An angular adjustment mechanism is interposed between the first member and the second member, and is operable to adjust the degree of tilt between the upper surface and the lower surface. A releasable lock is provided which can maintain the degree of tilt. The spacer instrument can be used with the knee in extension or flexion to allow various cuts or re-cuts to be made to the tibia or femur while the ligaments are in balance or to balance the ligaments.

摘要： A burr guide assembly for guiding a burr tool during a procedure in which the burr tool is used to cut a bone. The burr guide assembly comprises a housing which can be fastened to the bone and a guide sleeve which is pivotally mounted in the housing. The guide sleeve has a bore extending along its length in which a burr tool can be received such that the cutting portion of the burr tool extends from the sleeve towards the bone which is to be cut. The bore is located eccentrically within the guide sleeve. Further, the sleeve is mounted in the housing for pivotal movement around an axis so that the cutting portion of the burr tool is restricted to movement in a plane which is perpendicular to that axis. The assembly also includes a burr tool which is a sliding fit in the guide sleeve.

摘要： A distractor instrument for use in knee joint surgery is provided that includes a tibial plate, a femoral plate, a tibial arm having a plate end and a control end, wherein the tibial plate is fastened to the plate end of the tibial arm at its anterior edge, and wherein, when the tibial plate is engaged with the tibia, the tibial arm is configured to extend from the tibial plate generally medially or laterally of the knee joint. The distractor instrument also includes a femoral arm having a plate end and a control end, wherein the femoral plate is fastened to the plate end of the femoral arm, and wherein, when the femoral plate is engaged with the femur, the femoral arm extends from the femoral plate generally aligned with the tibial arm. The tibial arm and the femoral arm are pivotably connected to one another at a point between their respective plate and control ends so that pivotal movement of the femoral arm relative to the tibial arm reduces the distance between their control ends and causes the distance between the tibial plate end and the femoral plate end to increase.

摘要： A femoral sizing guide comprises a body, a superstructure and a stylus. The body has feet extending underneath and resting against posterior condylar surfaces of the femur and an extension component. The superstructure is slidable on the extension component and the extension component is rotatable with respect to the feet. The stylus may be coupled to the superstructure. The superstructure has a first guide hole defining a first alignment axis and the extension component has a second guide hole defining a second alignment axis. The distance between the first and second guide holes varies as the superstructure slides relative to the body. A method of locating an alignment axis on a resected femoral surface at a distal end of a femur which is transverse to the longitudinal axis of the femur using the femoral sizing guide is also disclosed.
