The sleeve includes means 40, 48 for indexing the tool arm therein. The tool support arms are intermediately hinged 28 for pivotal movement in a vertical plane to lower the vertical projecting tool supported thereon to a non-interfering inactive position while the active tool on another tool support arm extending horizontally from the plate is in the active, raised position.

摘要： Newly made glass containers received on a conveyor belt in random orientation are conveyed and brushed into transversally separated columns in lying-down orientation, mouths randomly forwards and rearwards. An escapement periodically addresses the leading row of the columns and sets all the containers of this row in a mouth-upwards upright condition. These upright containers are transferred, several at a time, to individual pockets of an indexing rotary table. Typically, the table has four positions, in which the containers are respectively loaded into pockets, plug gauged, photoelectrically inspected, and unloaded. The relative position of inspection-failing containers is stored in a memory and, in connection with unloading the rotary table, these containers are culled. Apparatus for accepting and automatically packing the inspection-passing containers in boxes is preferably juxtaposed with the unloading station of the rotary table.

摘要： An adjustable break-away stretcher having a pair of complimentary frame parts detachably interconnected at each end, the frame parts including a body section and an extensible leg section each mounting aligned patient supporting panels, the extensible leg section having cylindrical tubular frame members telescopically received in polygonal tubular members in the body section, the polygonal frame members having mating polygonal plugs at their ends adapted to be slidably but non-rotatably received in the polygonal tubes so as to prevent the tubular frame members from rotating relative to the body section, the arrangement preventing misalignment between the patient supporting panels of the leg section relative to those of the body section when the frame parts are detached and, where locking pins are used to fix the position of the extensible leg section relative to the body section, misalignment of the locking pins relative to the openings in which they are received is also prevented. The extensible tubular frame members are preferably connected to the polygonal plugs by hinges which normally lie within the confines of the polygonal tubes but which project outwardly beyond the ends of the tubes when the extensible section is extended, thereby permitting the extensible section to be folded relative to the body section. The locking pins are controlled by latch arms which are movable from a retracted to an extended position in which they provide an easily ascertainable visual indication of whether the locking pins are in locked or unlocked position.

摘要： A one man cart for carrying articles of merchandise having a main horizontal frame having auxiliary wheels at the forward end thereof, a pair of rear legs pivoted from the front of said main frame and inclined downwardly and rearwardly, a toggle brace pivoted to the rear of said main frame and inclined downwardly and forwardly and pivoted to said rear legs, front legs pivoted to the front of said frame and extending substantially vertically downwardly. A mechanism is provided to lock and unlock said front legs so that they may be pivoted rearwardly for operations such as moving the cart up and down stairs while holding the cart by an extension of the rear legs at the front of the cart. The toggle braces for the rear legs are pivotal to unlock the rear legs. A mechanism provided at the rear of the cart is operable to sequentially unlock the front legs and thereafter the rear legs to permit the cart to be thrust into a vehicle pivoting the front legs and rear legs sequentially while the cart is supported by the auxiliary wheels riding on the deck of the vehicle.
