According to one or more embodiments, the glass enamel comprises a glass frit; a vehicle comprising a polymeric energetic binder; and an oxidizing agent. In one or more embodiments, the glass enamels may or may not include a pigment and can be applied to glass sheets such as windshields for automobiles or liquid crystal display glasses.

Frits, obscuration enamel compositions including frits and automotive windshields having obscuration enamel compositions applied thereto are described. According to one or more embodiments, the obscuration enamel composition comprises a paste component and a frit component having Bi2O3, SiO2 and B2O3 and being substantially free of Na2O. In other embodiments, a reducing agent is included in the frit component. Obscuration enamels of some embodiments have a total solids content of at least 80% by weight.

Embodiments of the conductive composition incorporate a palladium component and boride component selected from ZrB2, TiB2 and LaB6 and combinations thereof and having a Mohs hardness of about 7 or greater. Embodiments of articles with a conductive composition disposed thereon and methods of preparing such articles are also provided.

Coating compositions, articles having a coating layer and an enamel layer applied thereto, enamel systems and processes for applying a coating to a glass composite are described. According to one or more embodiments, the coating composition comprises a refractory particulate material in an amount at least about 30% by weight. In other embodiments, the coating composition has an average particle size of less than about 30 μm. In yet other embodiments, the coating composition can be applied to a glass composite having a layer of enamel disposed on the second surface, using a single firing step.
